For more information, visit QXO.com.\nWhat you will do:\nAs a Staff Software Engineer on the QXO RevX Pricing Technology team, you will lead the design, development, and operation of the systems that cost, price, and quote across QXO’s distribution business. You will own core platform components from architecture through production: the price calculation engine, cost and margin data services, product relationship models, and the configure-price-quote (CPQ) tools our sales teams use to build and win deals. You’ll work directly with pricing scientists, pricing analysts, and commercial leaders to turn pricing strategy, statistical models, and AI into reliable, auditable production software that serves quoting, eCommerce, and branch point-of-sale channels.\nThis role is ideal for engineers who are highly technical, comfortable with ambiguity, and interested in the economics behind the systems they build. You will help replace a third-party pricing engine with QXO-owned software and shape an AI-native platform that supports our pricing and quoting roadmap for years to come.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build, and operate the core pricing engine and low-latency price-serving APIs used by CPQ, eCommerce, and ERP point-of-sale systems\nBuild and extend CPQ capabilities, including quote configuration, AI-assisted deal guidance for sellers, approval workflows, and order management integration\nBuild costing systems that produce accurate product and order-line costs, including landed cost and vendor rebates, so margin is measured correctly at the transaction level\nBuild product relationship services that use embeddings and LLM-based product attribute extraction to identify complementary and substitute items for cross-sell, recommendations, and relational price consistency\nProductionize pricing science and AI models (segmentation, market price, margin, elasticity, and LLM-based agents), including model serving, evaluation, versioning, and monitoring\nBuild data pipelines that integrate transaction, cost, rebate, product, and competitive data from ERP and data warehouse sources\nBuild pricing controls into the platform, including price change audit trails, change management, and guardrails on AI-generated recommendations that meet SOX and IT general control requirements\nLead migration from the incumbent pricing engine, including parallel-run validation, reconciliation, and cutover\nLead design, architecture, and code reviews, and drive operational excellence and system reliability\nMentor engineers and shape engineering practices across the team, including effective use of AI coding tools\nWhat you will bring:\n8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience\n3+ years building scalable, distributed systems using object-oriented programming languages (Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, etc.)\nExperience with modern front-end technologies and frameworks such as React, Next.js, OR TypeScript\nStrong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, system design, and concurrency\nExperience designing, launching, and operating production systems in a cloud-native environment (GCP, AWS)\nStrong SQL and data modeling skills, with experience building batch and streaming data pipelines\nExperience leading architectural designs and mentoring other engineers\nExperience integrating with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, or order management platforms\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to business stakeholdersNice to Have\n\nExperience building pricing, CPQ, revenue management, or quote-to-cash systems\nFamiliarity with B2B distribution pricing and costing concepts: price waterfalls, contract and matrix pricing, vendor rebates, landed cost, and cost-plus versus market-based pricing\nExperience building product similarity, recommendation, or catalog intelligence systems, including embeddings, vector search, or market basket analysis\nExperience building production applications on large language models, including retrieval, tool use, agent workflows, and evaluation\nExperience deploying statistical or ML models to production, including feature pipelines, model inference, and model monitoring\nExperience with experimentation frameworks or causal measurement of pricing changes\nExperience building systems subject to SOX or financial audit controls\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and performance tuning\nMS or Ph.D. in computer science, economics, operations research, or a quantitative field\nWhat you will earn:\nBase pay range: $160,000 - $288,000\nAnnual performance bonus\nLong term incentive (equity/stock)\n401(k) with employer match\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\nPTO, company holidays, and parental leave\nPaid Time Off/Paid Sick Leave: Applicants can expect to accrue 15 days of paid time off during their first year (4.62 hours for every 80 hours worked) and increased accruals after five years of service.\nPaid training and certifications\nLegal assistance and identity protection\nPet insurance\nEmployee assistance program (EAP)\nQXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
