You will work as part of the yard team to receive, stock, pull, stage, and load lumber and other building materials for customer orders and deliveries. This hands-on position may also be described as a lumberyard associate, warehouse worker, material handler, forklift operator, order picker, stocker, or loader. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, comfortable performing physical work, and enjoys working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.\nMaterial Handling & Yard Operations\nPull, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently \nReceive, stock, organize, and store lumber and building materials in designated yard and warehouse locations\nLoad and unload trucks, customer vehicles, deliveries, and branch transfers\nVerify product quantities and order accuracy before loading or shipment\nSupport inventory control, stocking, and material flow throughout the facility\nAssist customers with locating and loading materials\nIdentify and report damaged, missing, or incorrectly stored materials\nEquipment Operation\nSafely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment \nComplete routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns\nFollow all equipment operating procedures and company safety guidelines\nObtain forklift certification where required; training may be provided \nYard Maintenance & Safety\nMaintain clean, organized, and professional lumberyard, warehouse, and storage areas\nMonitor racks and storage locations to ensure materials are stored safely\nIdentify and report hazards, damaged materials, and unsafe conditions\nFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements\nPromote a safety-first work environment\nTeam Collaboration\nWork closely with yard associates, warehouse employees, drivers, sales teams, and management\nSupport daily operational, inventory, and customer-service goals\nPerform additional yard, warehouse, stocking, and material-handling duties as assigned\nWhat you will bring:\nStrong customer-service and communication skills\nPositive attitude and team-oriented mindset\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety\nAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced environment\nBasic math and measurement skills\nDependable attendance and a strong work ethic\nPrevious experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, building-materials, stocking, distribution, or construction environment is preferred\nForklift experience or willingness to complete forklift training and certification\nExperience pulling orders, stocking inventory, and loading materials is an asset\nFamiliarity with lumber, construction supplies, or other building materials is preferred\nPhysical and Work Requirements\nAbility to work primarily in outdoor lumberyard and warehouse environments\nComfort working in varying weather conditions and around equipment, dust, lumber, and building materials\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift\nAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 80 pounds, as required\nAbility to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment\nAvailability for overtime or weekend work when required by business needs\nWhat you will earn:\nPaid training\nParental leave\nHealth insurance\n401(k) matching\nPaid time off\nVision insurance\nDental insurance\nEmployee assistance program\nQXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
