Corman Railroad Group is currently seekinga Senior Network Engineer to join our team inNicholasville, KY.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport and maintain corporate and field network environments across railroad offices, terminals, shops, yards, and remote locations supporting rail operations.\nTroubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues impacting operational systems, dispatching, safety, and business functions.\nServe as an escalation point for complex network incidents and outages.\nAdminister and support Cisco ISE for user and device authentication, wired and wireless access control, and integration with Active Directory and security policies.\nTroubleshoot access issues affecting office staff, field devices, and railroad operational systems.\nManage Cisco Umbrella DNS-layer security policies and support remote users and locations.\nSupport and coordinate fiber and structured cabling infrastructure, including MDF/IDF closets, patch panels, switches, cabling documentation, and labeling.\nCoordinate with contractors and vendors for fiber installations, repairs, and testing.\nSupport Azure networking components, including site-to-site VPNs and secure connectivity between on-premises locations and Azure.\nDeploy, configure, and support Cradlepoint LTE/5G devices for remote sites, temporary locations, and backup connectivity.\nMonitor connectivity, performance, and reliability of cellular network solutions.\nManage vendor relationships, Cisco SmartNet support cases, hardware replacements, and support escalations.\nAssist with hardware lifecycle planning and refresh coordination.\nMaintain network documentation, including network diagrams, IP address tracking, site connectivity details, and troubleshooting procedures.\nFollow and contribute to change management practices.\nCollaborate with IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Field Operations, railroad leadership, and site contacts.\nMentor junior team members and provide guidance on network best practices.\nCommunicate clearly during outages or changes impacting railroad operations.\nSpecialized or Technical Knowledge, Education and Experience:\n10+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.\nHands-on experience with Cisco ISE.\nHands-on experience with Cisco Umbrella.\nExperience with Cisco SmartNet support processes.\nExperience with fiber and wired network infrastructure.\nAzure networking experience (basic to intermediate).\nExperience with Cradlepoint or cellular WAN devices.\nStrong troubleshooting skills in real-world operational environments.\nAbility to support business-critical systems where uptime and safety are priorities.\nComfortable working with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.\nExperience supporting industrial, transportation, railroad, or field operations environments preferred.\nCisco and/or Azure certifications, or equivalent experience, preferred.\nFamiliarity with remote site networking.\nFamiliarity with backup and failover connectivity.\nFamiliarity with ITIL or structured IT support practices.\nPractical, solutions-oriented mindset.\nStrong sense of ownership and reliability.\nAbility to balance security with operational needs.\nStrong communication skills with technical and non-technical users.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to work in both office and railroad field environments.\nAbility to respond to network incidents and outages affecting operational systems.\nAbility to travel as needed.\nEnvironmental Conditions:\nWorks in a combination of office, railroad facility, terminal, yard, shop, and remote field environments.\n\nSupports network infrastructure in operational railroad settings.\nMay require travel to railroad facilities, remote locations, and field sites.\nWorks in environments where uptime, safety, and operational continuity are critical.\nBenefits: R.J.
