Our business includes the acquisition and processing of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and battery materials and the production of recycled black mass and lithium carbonate.\nController\nLocation: Remote\nReports to: Chief Financial Officer\nExperience: 7-10 years of relevant experience\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nThe Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for leading the Company’s accounting function and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of its financial reporting. This role will establish and maintain accounting policies, practices, procedures, and internal controls while overseeing the monthly close, financial reporting, audit, and statutory reporting processes.\nThe ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise combined with significant experience in industrial or manufacturing environments and multinational organizations. This individual will be a hands-on accounting leader capable of building scalable accounting processes and controls as R3 grows its operations.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead the Company’s accounting function, including general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, inventory, and other core accounting activities.\nOwn the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and supporting schedules.\nEnsure financial statements are prepared accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company accounting policies.\nProvide technical accounting leadership, including research, documentation, and implementation of appropriate accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions.\nEstablish, document, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate for a growing organization.\nOversee manufacturing and inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, standard/product costing, manufacturing variances, capitalization, fixed assets, and other accounting matters associated with industrial operations.\nSupport accounting for capital projects and significant equipment investments, including appropriate capitalization, depreciation, and project accounting.\nOversee accounting and reporting requirements associated with multinational operations, including consolidation, foreign currency matters, intercompany transactions, and coordination of local statutory reporting and compliance requirements.\nCoordinate external audits and serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other accounting professionals.\nEnsure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and international financial reporting and statutory requirements.\nPartner with the CFO and FP&A to provide accurate and timely financial information supporting management reporting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.\nSupport implementation and optimization of ERP and other financial systems, ensuring appropriate accounting processes and internal controls are incorporated into system design.\nBuild and develop the accounting organization, processes, and infrastructure necessary to support the Company as it scales.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.\nCPA required.\n7- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading a corporate accounting or controllership function.\nDeep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to research and resolve complex technical accounting matters.\nSignificant accounting experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, including inventory, product costing, fixed assets, capital projects, and manufacturing variances.\nExperience working within a multinational organization, including exposure to consolidations, foreign currency, intercompany accounting, and international statutory reporting.\nDemonstrated expertise in financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, audits, and internal controls.\nStrong ERP experience, including experience implementing or optimizing financial systems.\nExperience developing accounting policies, procedures, and scalable financial controls.\nStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.\nAbility to operate independently and effectively in a fast-paced, growth-stage
