The engineer will work primarily on operational tickets, standard changes, incidents, patching activities, deployment support, and initial-level troubleshooting.\nKey Responsibilities\nHandle BAU tickets, service requests, incidents, and operational tasks.\nPerform basic administration and troubleshooting of AWS services.\nSupport and troubleshoot Amazon EC2 instances.\nSupport applications and workloads running on Amazon EKS.\nPerform basic Kubernetes troubleshooting, including:Pods\nDeployments\nServices\nConfigMaps\nSecrets\nLogs\nBasic networking issues\n\nSupport application deployments using Helm Charts.\nAssist with SSL/TLS certificate-related activities, including certificate installation, renewal, and basic troubleshooting.\nSupport and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines.\nWork with Jenkins for application build and deployment activities.\nUse Ansible for standard configuration management and automation activities.\nUnderstand and support AWS Security Groups, including basic inbound and outbound rule troubleshooting.\nPerform and support Linux patching activities.\nPerform and support Windows Server patching activities.\nPerform initial troubleshooting for Linux and Windows operating system issues.\nHave a good understanding of Terraform and support standard infrastructure changes through existing Terraform code.\nReview Terraform plans and assist with troubleshooting common Terraform deployment issues.\nPerform basic troubleshooting across:Cloud infrastructure\nServers\nKubernetes\nApplication deployments\nCI/CD pipelines\nNetwork connectivity\nSSL certificates\n\nFollow established SOPs, runbooks, change procedures, and operational processes.\nParticipate in on-call support and respond to production alerts/incidents.\nPerform initial incident analysis and escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams when required.\nDocument troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and operational changes in tickets.\nTechnical Skills\nThe candidate should have a good understanding of:\nAWS\nAmazon EC2\nAmazon EKS\nRDS\nKubernetes\nHelm\nSSL/TLS Certificates\nCI/CD\nJenkins\nAnsible\nTerraform\nAWS Security Groups\nLinux Administration\nWindows Server Administration\nLinux & Windows Patching\nBasic Networking\nInfrastructure Troubleshooting\nApplication Deployment Troubleshooting\nProduction Support / On-Call Support\nExpected L1 Capability\nAn L1 engineer should be capable of independently handling routine operational activities and standard BAU tickets using existing documentation, SOPs, Terraform modules, pipelines, Helm charts, and automation.\nFor issues requiring architecture changes, complex troubleshooting, new infrastructure design, major Terraform development, Kubernetes platform changes, or advanced production incident analysis, the engineer should collect the required information and escalate to the appropriate L2/L3 engineer.\n\nAbout Rackspace Technology\nWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
