Advises data center operations employees concerning administrative procedures, technical problems, personal development, DC processes, and key priorities.\nWork Location: Onsite at our Ashburn, VA Data Center\nShift: Second and Third Shift\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervises day-to-day activities of Data Center Operations Technicians across all shifts in a 24x7 environment. \nEnsures that production schedules and commitments are met and the Data Center maintains 100% uptime through impeccable housekeeping and robust operational discipline. \nEnsures adherence to global processes and quality control standards for all work performed by the team. \nCoordinates with vendors and contractors to ensure Data Center needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. \nMonitors and reports on operational performance to the DC General Manager and leadership team. \nRecommends changes in procedures or equipment that would increase productivity, reduce cost, and better serve Data Center requirements and customers. \nCoordinates activities and improvements with peers at other Rackspace Data Centers. \nTrains employees on policies and procedures and engages them in change. \nRecommends employees for hiring, firing, promotions, and demotions. At the manager’s discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.\nExperience\nA minimum of 7 years of Data Center Operations work experience is required\nA minimum of 3 years of people management experience is required\nPhysical Demands\n Due to the nature of the position, must be able to lift 50 lbs overhead with or without reasonable accommodation. \nDue to 24x7 operations of the facility, must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include weekends, nights, and holidays.\n\nOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The compensation range for this position ranges from $119,686.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to $175,501.70/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
