This role owns complex customer issues which may take several days or weeks to resolve and keeps our customers updated through every step of the process.\nYou will be expected to take initiative and advise on potential pitfalls that a customer may encounter and suggest alternatives through automation, which may better serve the stability and security of the customer's solution. Technical issues can include troubleshooting customer network environments including firewall configurations, VPN technologies and access-control lists, VIP configurations, TCL (iRule) and Perl scripts, layer 4 thru 7 issues, etc.\nThis role will support many elements of the Rackspace Cloud product portfolio, including RackConnect. You will create and maintain customer loyalty by providing Fanatical Experiences above and beyond customer expectations. You will also be responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.\nKey Responsibilities\nConfigure, troubleshoot, and take escalations for Firewalls & Load Balancers, Windows/Linux system administration, or Cloud Native Tooling\nCreate documentation for support and operations tasks regarding the above tools\nConfigure, plan, install, maintain, and optimize network systems, equipment, and applications ensuring network protocols and security policies are used effectively\nSolve engineering problems through the ownership of level appropriate customer requests and issues, seeing them through to resolution\nDesign, schedule and coordinate maintenances\nEngineer and implement customized security solutions\nCollaborate with Account Managers and Business Development Consultants to build strong customer relationships\nCollaborate and share knowledge with other Engineers and Administrators\nMentor and train lower level Rackers\nOther Incidental tasks related to the job, as necessary.\nSkills/Knowledge\nRequired - working knowledge of NSX-T, Palo Alto, Cisco FirePower, F5.\nDesirable - working knowledge of Fortigate, Azure, Cisco Nexus, Panaroma, ACI, Cloudflare.\nAt least ONE relevant networking certification e.g. CCNA/P.\nCritical Competencies\nExcellence: Exceeds expectations by consistently demonstrating accountability, discipline, high performance, and a proven track record of exceptional results.\nCustomer-driven: Prioritizes customer needs and satisfaction through collaborative and proactive problem-solving, and an unwavering commitment to customer success.\nExpertise: Possesses deep understanding of customer needs and continually grows and enhances skills to provide customer-focused solutions.\nAgility: Quickly adapts and responds to dynamic customer needs and expectations through innovative solutions.\nCompassion: Cultivates a positive and supportive environment to effectively work together towards a common goal, fostering trust within Rackspace and with external stakeholders.\nCareer Level Summary\nProven experience (7+ years) in Networking/Network Security.\nRequires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines\nSolves complex problems\nWorks independently, receives minimal guidance\nMay lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives\nActs as a resource for colleagues with less experience\n\nOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The compensation range for this position ranges from £48,101.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to £62,315.00/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
