Reporting to the Resort Operations Manager, you’ll be the senior engineering authority for the resort, leading all engineering and maintenance operations across our buildings, grounds and physical plant.\nThis is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine your technical expertise with strong people leadership, commercial thinking and a passion for continuous improvement. From asset management and major capital works to compliance, sustainability and emergency response, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our resort operates safely, efficiently and to the high standards our guests, members and teams expect.\nThe excitement is building on the Gold Coast, as the 2032 Olympic Games fast approaches. RACV Royal Pines Resort is entering an exciting new chapter, with significant resort development projects underway, we are seeking a professional Chief Engineer, to join our dynamic team through this period of transformation and growth.\nThis could be just the right role for you?\nAs the Chief Engineer, your key responsibilities include:\nLead and develop the Engineering & Maintenance team, fostering a high-performing culture focused on safety, service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement\nOversee resort engineering and maintenance operations, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, lifts, pools, irrigation, water treatment and life safety systems\nLead planned, preventative and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce breakdowns and maximise asset life\nPartner with Property & Capital Works to manage asset lifecycle planning and deliver capital works projects from concept through to installation and commissioning\nManage engineering operating and capital budgets, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs and optimise asset performance\nLead compliance, contractor management and emergency response, ensuring WHS, essential services, fire safety, electrical safety and water quality requirements are maintained\nChampion energy and sustainability initiatives, monitoring energy, water and waste consumption and identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact and operating costs\nWork collaboratively across the resort to proactively resolve engineering issues, build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure exceptional experiences for guests\nWhat you’ll need to be successful\nRelevant trade qualification and current Queensland trade licence\nMinimum 5 years’ senior engineering or maintenance leadership experience, ideally within hotels, resorts or large commercial properties\nEffective people leadership, coaching and team development skills.Proven experience in capital projects, budgets and asset lifecycle management\nDeveloped knowledge of WHS, building compliance and contractor management\nExperience with building & maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications\nExcellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills\nA safety-first, guest-focused and commercially minded approach\nAbility to work autonomously, prioritise effectively and make sound decisions\nFlexibility for after-hours on-call, emergency response and Manager on Duty requirements\nValid drivers licence\nAbility to obtain & be approved for a valid Working with Children Check QLD Blue Card, essential\nExcellent grooming & personal presentation\nWe are Offering\nPermanent Full-time\n\nCompetitive remuneration package, industry benchmarked\n\nLifestyle employee discounts & benefits at RACV resorts with accommodation, dining, vehicle roadside assistance, insurance, travel & experiences, RACV club membership, care hire & corporate partner offers\n\nHealth & wellbeing employee discounts & benefits including discounted gym & golf membership, eye wear, employee giving & volunteer program, parental leave, employee assistance program + more\n\nCareer leadership training and development opportunities\n\nValues led organisation & healthy team culture\n\nEmployee of the month awards & recognition programs\n\nComplimentary parking onsite\nThe RACV difference\nCurious about where this role could take you?
