We’re looking for a Mid-Level AI Engineer to join our growing Transformation and AI team.\nIn this hands-on role, you’ll design, build and operate production-ready AI solutions across a broad range of RACV initiatives. You’ll work across the full delivery lifecycle, from understanding business problems and exploring ideas through to solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing support.\nWith a focus on large language models, agentic AI and cloud-based engineering, this is an opportunity to deepen your technical expertise while delivering solutions that make a meaningful difference for our members and teams.\nKey responsibilities\nDesign, build, deploy and maintain scalable AI-enabled applications, including LLM, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic AI solutions.\n\nOwn the delivery of clearly scoped AI initiatives, working with stakeholders to define the problem, agree success measures and deliver useful outcomes.\n\nDevelop production-quality solutions using Python and TypeScript or JavaScript, including APIs, microservices and integrations with models, data platforms and existing systems.\n\nCreate and improve prompting, retrieval and evaluation approaches to support accurate, grounded, safe and reliable AI outputs.\n\nContribute to code reviews, architectural discussions, CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments while applying responsible AI, security and data-protection practices.\n\nMonitor and support solutions in production, taking ownership in a “you build it, you run it” environment.\n\nWhat you’ll need to be successful\n3+ years’ Software or Data Engineering experience, including hands-on experience in delivering AI or LLM-enabled solutions.\n\nIn depth experience in Python and TypeScript or JavaScript.\n\nPractical experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Codex.\n\nExperience delivering cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nAn understanding of LLM development concepts such as RAG, agentic workflows, prompt and context engineering, tool use, structured evaluation and AI security.\n\nHands-on experience in Solutions Design and Architecture.\n\nExposure to frameworks and protocols such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, PydanticAI, MCP, A2A, RAGAS or promptfoo would be highly regarded.\n\nA curious and critical-thinking mindset, excellent communication skills.\n\nExperience working in a fast-paced Agile environment.\n\nThere’s so much on offer when you join RACV\nA flexible, informal work environment that supports balance between work and home\n\nGenerous discounts on home and car insurance policies and RACV roadside care\n\nRACV Club membership and great discounts across RACV resorts\n\nMonthly-updated discounts from a wide range of corporate partners\n\nOur difference\nAt RACV, we believe diversity and inclusion are essential to our continued success.
