As we continue to scale our AI capabilities, we're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, delivery and operation of enterprise-grade AI solutions that drive real business value.\nThis is a hands-on technical leadership role for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges, shaping architecture, and building high-quality software at scale. You'll combine deep software engineering expertise with advanced AI knowledge to deliver innovative solutions across RACV's Azure platform while mentoring and uplifting the capability of the broader engineering team.\nWhat you'll be doing\nLead the design, productionisation and end-to-end delivery of complex full-stack applications and services on RACV's Azure platform.\nDesign and build scalable, reliable solutions using TypeScript, Python and Azure cloud technologies.\nDevelop, deploy and operate AI-enabled applications, including LLM-powered and agentic AI solutions.\nDrive architecture decisions, engineering standards, code quality and technical best practice across teams.\nPartner with Data Scientists, ML specialists and platform teams to integrate and operationalise AI capabilities.\nLead AI evaluation, testing and optimisation practices to ensure quality, safety and performance in production.\nAct as a technical authority on AI security, governance and responsible AI practices.\nMentor engineers through design reviews, knowledge sharing, coaching and technical leadership.\nContribute to RACV's AI engineering capability by promoting modern AI-native development practices and tools.\nWhat you'll bring\nTechnical expertise\n5+ years' experience designing, building, and operating enterprise-scale software solutions with 3+ years of hands-on AI engineering experience delivering scalable AI products, platforms and tools using modern AI/MLtechnologies.\nAdvanced software engineering skills across TypeScript/JavaScript and Python.\nStrong experience delivering cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.\nExpertise in system design, productionisation, observability, reliability and operational excellence.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Bicep and modern CI/CD practices.\nStrong understanding of APIs, event-driven architectures, microservices and enterprise integrations.\nAI & modern engineering capability\nProven experience delivering production AI solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures and agentic AI patterns.\nExperience with orchestration frameworks such as Langchain (Deep agents, LangGraph)LlamaIndex, PydanticAI, Semantic Kernel, or similar.\nStrong understanding of prompt engineering, harness engineering, context management and AI evaluation frameworks.\nKnowledge of AI security risks including prompt injection, data leakage and model governance.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar.\nLeadership qualities\nStrong technical leadership and engineering judgement.\nAbility to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nExperience mentoring and developing engineers through coaching, pairing and design reviews.\nExceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.\nThere’s so much on offer when you join RACV\nA flexible, informal work environment that supports balance between work and home \nGenerous discounts on home and car insurance policies and RACV roadside care \nRACV Club membership and great discounts across RACV resorts \nMonthly-updated discounts from a wide range of corporate partners \nOur difference\nAt RACV, we believe diversity and inclusion are essential to our continued success.
