Successful candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and flight operations. Candidate will design, build, and pilot Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) used as live targets. These targets will directly test and evaluate Directed Energy (DE) and Kinetic Weapon Systems. This position offers hands-on engineering experience coupled with real-world flight operations in a dynamic defense environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssemble, modify, and maintain UAS platforms to meet specific target profile requirements\nServe as a remote pilot in command for UAS target flights during live-fire weapon testing\nIntegrate sensors, tracking aids, and telemetry equipment onto various UAS platforms\nCollaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to plan, execute, and analyze live-fire test events\nPerform pre-flight inspections, post-flight maintenance, and troubleshooting of UAS hardware and software\nMaintain detailed flight logs, maintenance records, and technical build documentation\nFabricate, assemble, install, repair, modify, test, operate, and troubleshoot electrical modules, components, and wire harnesses\nInspect finished products for conformance to specifications\nWork from written and verbal instructions\nProvide support across multiple projects simultaneously\nCollaborate with engineers and other technicians to achieve project objectives\nMaintain detailed records of all troubleshooting, assembly, disassembly, and repair procedures\nGenerate delivery-quality documentation to document best practices and procedures\nExecute responsibilities in both laboratory and field environments\nFabricate, assemble, and modify Group 1-3 UAS platforms to serve as dynamic targets for high-energy laser (HEL) and high-power microwave (HPM) open-air/live-fire tests\nCheck test hardware and software to ensure data are correct\nWrite detailed test reports and share results with engineers\nTravel 25% for extended duration as assigned\nOther duties may be assigned\nRequired Qualifications\nUS Citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance\nExperience: 2+ years of hands-on technical maintenance or field service experience\nEducation: Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field\nAbility to work in office and outside environment\nAbility to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements\nAbility to work independently to achieve project objectives by deadline\nAbility to lift 35 pounds\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nProficiency with industry standard operating systems and CAD applications to include SolidWorks or similar\n3D printing experience\nSome programming experience with MATLAB, C#, C++, or Python\nDesired Qualifications\nActive DoW Secret security clearance\nValid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate\nExperience with flight controllers, ground control software, and UAS flight operations\nFamiliarity with military test ranges or directed energy/kinetic weapon testing environments\nRadiance Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
