We utilize a wide range of metal forming techniques and special manufacturing processes, servicing the commercial, military, regional jet, helicopter, and general aviation markets.\nPosition Summary\nCoats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, or stain using spray gun. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.\nEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPaints surfaces of aircraft parts applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids by performing the following duties:\nStrips, sands, masks, and repaints surfaces, and manually blends finish to match surrounding areas.\nRegulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.\nCleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.\nMonitors and verifies quality in accordance with industry standards.\nRecords types and amounts of paints used for environmental regulation reporting.\nRecords completion of painting operations on planning documents.\nMaintains a safe and clean working environment by cleaning paint booth area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.\nCrosstrain in different processes within department.\nGood regular attendance is an essential function of this position.\nOther various duties as needed or as assigned.\nPosition Requirements\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)\nBasic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications \nBasic data entry into manufacturing software system\nSkillbridge\nThe DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service.
