HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Current Opportunity: Safety, Health, and Wellbeing Administrator - H&SW

Location: Birmingham or Coventry 

Role description:

• Carry out administrative processes to a high standard with attention to detail relating to health and safety in accordance with BBV processes and procedures.
• Work with the Team developing the Health and Safety Management system (template, formatting procedures)
• Ensure Health & Safety documentation is communicated to all and available on the IPTAN Way and online project filing system.
• Biosite - act as an Biosite Coordinator.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
• Work with the Health, and Safety Teams for developing Health, Safety and Wellbeing campaigns.
• Support the Team gathering data for month end reports.
• Work with the Team and the supplier on the project access control system to ensure only competent personnel access the working area and competency information is kept up to date.
• Recording of incidents using the project incident management system (HORACE) and chase close out of actions.
• Collaborative working to support the delivery of the project.
• Health and Safety document control support.
• Log Health and Safety Toolbox Talks / Observation cards / Inspections / RAMS
• Print out site documentation - posters / briefings / toolbox talks - laminate where required.
• Procurement - raise requisitions for Health and Safety Teams.
• Help support / organise Health and Safety Meetings / Events / VIP visits.
• Administration support for Health and Safety Champions
• Support and co-ordination with health surveillance and fit for role medicals.
• Other ad hoc duties as required for supporting the Team.

Essential Experience:

• Good communication skills, excellent attention to detail, an organised approach to work and an affinity towards working with standardised processes templates and frameworks.
• Good IT skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and good written skills including spelling and grammar, are essential.
