Whether onsite or officed based all colleagues have a key part to play in delivering this critical transport infrastructure project.\nCurrent Opportunity: Section Engineer \nLocation:\nBased in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).\n\nRole description:\nAllocate tasks to Site Engineers and supervise the task completion.\nEnsure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checks can be completed. • Oversee engineering requirements demanded in the delivery of a section of work or on larger projects, of a subcontractor, to meet the construction programme.\nMake effective use of document control to manage distribution of information.\nDevelop and approve relevant procedures specific to their area of works.\nIn association with the Section Foreman, assess the plant and resource requirements to meet the demands of site and office-based works.\nApprove method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works.\nEnsure Site Engineers complete setting out in accordance with design.\nEnsure Design Drawings are marked up to reflect works completed as the works are finished.\nLiaise with other Section Engineers/Foremen to ensure any clashes on site are managed to ensure a smooth flow of work. • Regularly review procedures to ensure they are as efficient as possible.\nEssential Experience:\nDegree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering\nMin of 3 years' experience as Section Engineer\nRead and understand drawings\nHave experience of working with Permit System and actively raises permits to work\nHave basic environmental awareness\nApplicants must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.\nWhy Join Us:\nCar/car allowance\nFlexible working options\nFree parking & travel allowance (where eligible)\nFamily-friendly policies\nExcellent pension & healthcare\nWellbeing support & flu vaccinations\nAbout Us\nBalfour Beatty VINCI is a joint venture with over 30 years of experience delivering iconic infrastructure, including the Channel Tunnel, Crossrail, and upgrading some of the UK’s busiest motorways.
