Our team members at all levels have the freedom to explore ideas and impact the roadmap and vision of our company.\nAbout the Role\nRain is looking for a Business Development Lead to build and scale our presence in the rapidly emerging agentic commerce ecosystem.\nYou’ll drive new business by identifying high-value opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and building a strong commercial pipeline. You’ll also help shape Rain’s commercial thesis at the intersection of stablecoins and AI, identifying where our infrastructure can unlock new use cases and where Rain has a right to win.\nWorking closely with Product and Engineering, you’ll translate market insights into commercial and product opportunities and position Rain as a critical infrastructure partner for the next generation of commerce.\nThis is a highly entrepreneurial role for someone who can see where the market is headed, move early, and turn emerging opportunities into meaningful growth for Rain.\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild Rain’s agentic commerce pipeline: Identify, source, and develop high-value commercial opportunities across AI-native companies, agent platforms, agentic commerce infrastructure providers, and emerging payment ecosystems.\n\nDevelop our agentic commerce strategy: Define priority segments, use cases, target accounts, and partnership opportunities, with a particular focus on where stablecoin and payments infrastructure can unlock new capabilities for AI-powered commerce.\n\nDrive commercial execution: Develop compelling value propositions, manage a high-quality pipeline, and work cross-functionally to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.\n\nStay ahead of the market: Identify emerging trends, technologies, companies, and use cases across AI and payments early, and translate them into commercial opportunities and strategic priorities for Rain.\n\nOwn strategic partnerships: Lead opportunities from initial outreach and discovery through solutioning, negotiation, deal execution, and handoff.\n\nBuild the ecosystem: Establish relationships with founders, developers, and industry leaders shaping the future of AI-powered commerce and autonomous payments.\n\nPartner with Product and Engineering: Bring market intelligence and prospective partner feedback into product discussions, helping inform Rain’s roadmap and identify opportunities for new capabilities.\n\nShape Rain’s market position: Develop our point of view on the role of stablecoins in agentic commerce and build Rain’s position as a leading infrastructure partner in the ecosystem.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n6+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a related commercial role, ideally within AI, fintech, payments, or emerging technology.\n\nStrong understanding of the AI ecosystem, particularly agentic commerce, AI agents, and the infrastructure enabling autonomous transactions.\n\nDemonstrated ability to source, develop, negotiate, and close strategic commercial partnerships.\n\nEntrepreneurial mindset with experience building new business opportunities end to end, entering emerging markets, or developing go-to-market strategies from the ground up.\n\nStrong commercial judgment and the ability to identify high-potential opportunities in rapidly evolving markets.\n\nAbility to form an independent point of view on emerging markets and translate it into commercial action.\n\nAbility to engage credibly with both technical and business stakeholders, translating complex technologies into clear commercial value propositions.\n\nExceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.\n\nHigh degree of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and bias toward action.\n\nComfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and limited established playbooks.\n\nNice to Have\nDirect experience working at an AI-native company, agentic commerce platform, or AI infrastructure provider.\n\nExisting relationships within the AI developer, agentic commerce, or emerging payments ecosystem.\n\nFamiliarity with AI agent frameworks, agent payment protocols, and emerging standards for autonomous transactions.\n\nExperience with payments infrastructure, card issuing, stablecoins, wallets, or blockchain-based financial services.\n\nTrack record of building and scaling a new commercial vertical or ecosystem partnership strategy.\n\nThings that enable a fulfilling, healthy and happy experience at Rain:\nUnlimited time off Unlimited vacation can be daunting, so we require Rainmakers to take 10 days minimum for themselves.\nFlexible working We support a flexible workplace, if you feel comfortable at home please work from home.
