This is a remote position based in Dublin, Ireland.\nYou will be joining one of our development strike teams to deliver awesome new features for our many users to enjoy.\nOur engineers are enthusiastic and operate across the development spectrum, from front-end to back-end to CI/CD and infrastructure. We take full responsibility for our work, from requirements gathering and solutioning, to implementation and testing, to deploying and monitoring how our code behaves in front of real customers. Kobo is looking for an engineer who shares these passions and is proud of the work they do.\nReporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the Full Stack Software Engineer III plays a vital role in all aspects of delivery from design, planning and implementation through to releasing and monitoring.\nResponsibilities:\nBuilding quality software using the full Microsoft stack including MVC Web Applications, Web API services, .Net 8 microservices and much more. \nPropose designs and Proof of Concepts to Architecture team and work with the team to deliver the implementation to Production. \nParticipate in code reviews; happy to give and receive constructive feedback. \nCommunicate clearly and effectively with teammates, Business stakeholders and other development teams in Kobo. \nMentoring more junior team members of the team and conducting code reviews. \nThe Skillset:\nRequired \nComputer Science or Computer Engineering Degree (or equivalent experience) \nHighly technical and able to communicate well with engineers and cross-functional team members \nExperience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, RESTful Services, .Net 8 Microservices \nExperience with SOLID Principles and Practices, IoC & TDD. \nSome experience with service bus technology e.g. NServiceBus, RabbitMQ. \nStrong experience with React and modern JavaScript/CSS frameworks. \nExperience with Git. \nExperience with designing, implementing, and optimizing observability solutions (metrics, logs, traces). \nExperienced and knowledgeable in CI/CD and different testing strategies and techniques (Unit, Integration, UI tests), including experience with ArgoCD. \nComfortable with and enthusiastic about learning new technologies. \nNice to Haves \nWorking in an Agile environment and teamDocker, Solr, Kubernetes \nTest automation using Selenium Webdriver or Playwright \nWorking with GitHub or Azure DevOps \nKnowledge of Ruby or other scripting languages \nExperience with MS SQL, RavenDb, EntityFramework. \nThe Perks\nFlexible hours and remote working environment\n4 extra long weekends around bank holiday weekends\nFull benefits starting from your first day\nPaid volunteer days, unlimited sick days\n4% employer pension contribution\nFlexible spending account\nTalent and development training budget\nFree Kobo device + free weekly eBook or audiobook\nWeekly Kobo Spark sessions\nMaternity/paternity leave top-up\nAbout Rakuten Kobo Inc.\nRakuten Kobo Inc. is the world’s digital bookseller created by and for booklovers.
