Since then, SONIX has continued to push the envelope of technology, providing our customers with superior inspection technologies and engineering advancements.\nOur customers come from a variety of industries, including semiconductor packaging, component manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and traditional non-destructive testing.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nSONIX seeks an experienced Electromechanical Engineer to design the next generation of its scanning acoustic microscope products and explore emerging technologies to meet the evolving needs of its diverse customer base.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, designing and implementing new product platforms from proof of concept through production release, encompassing all aspects of product design. The successful candidate will be expected to exercise a high degree of creativity in developing innovative designs and creating proofs of concept to address complex engineering challenges.\nIn addition to developing new products, the engineer will support our global service team in sustaining engineering activities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the field.\nThe engineer will work closely with multiple teams, including internal and external partners.\nThe position offers opportunities for domestic and international travel to meet with vendors and customers, collaborate on the design and development of next-generation solutions, and gather valuable feedback.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nLeverage extensive electrical engineering and system design experience to design, rapidly prototype, and develop comprehensive electrical systems for new product platforms. Demonstrate the ability to create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams that support system designs and apply manufacturing techniques to transform concepts into production-ready solutions.\nBuild systems that integrate multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and fluid dynamics, and incorporate the safety systems needed to meet relevant certification requirements.\nLeverage knowledge of industrial sensors, including motion and environmental sensors, as well as transducer interface and implementation, to support electrical designs that deliver the necessary performance, accuracy, and repeatability to ensure product reliability and robustness.\nLead and facilitate cross-functional meetings to brainstorm creative solutions, troubleshoot problems, and ensure projects remain on track.\nReport project status to the management team regularly, identify risks and issues that may impact schedules, and suggest countermeasures to ensure project timelines are maintained.\nVisit customers to gain insight into how our tools are used and learn how they can be improved to meet and exceed customer expectations, both now and in the future.\nSupport full product lifecycle management, including responsibility for transitioning products from engineering to production and service to support them as standard products.\nManage system certifications to ensure systems are engineered to meet safety guidelines relevant to the markets and countries in which we sell, as well as conformance to ISO standards.\nEnsure release and project documentation is current, complete, and located in the appropriate repository.\nTrain production and field service personnel to ensure support for new product platforms and features.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nMinimum of 7 years of engineering experience in a highly technical environment, with a background in industrial electronics circuit design related to EMI/EMC, automation, water, air, and vacuum systems.\nExperience designing semiconductor equipment is a strong plus.\nExperience designing equipment to operate in a cleanroom environment is a strong plus.\nMaster’s degree or PhD in Engineering preferred.\nExperience using PSPICE and electrical CAD design tools, including KiCAD, OrCAD, Allegro, Altium, or similar.\nExperience in embedded software and PLC programming based on microcontrollers.\nExperience designing IO controllers using STM, TI, or Arduino microcontrollers.\nExperience with serial communications such as CAN, RS422, RS485, I2C, and SPI.\nExperience with industrial measurement equipment such as DAQ systems, oscilloscopes, and National Instruments devices.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nExperience in technical project management, including maintaining schedules and interfacing with cross-functional team members throughout the project lifecycle, is a plus.\nStrong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nStrong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and a proven ability to meet deadlines.\nExcellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), listening, and leadership skills.\nProficiency with MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS
