Under the guidance of an experienced engineer, the intern will apply engineering fundamentals to production processes, equipment, workflows, and data while gaining practical experience in a manufacturing environment.\nSupports hands-on process improvement, problem solving, and documentation activities on the manufacturing floor.\n\nPartners with manufacturing engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and EHS to complete assigned projects.\n\nEssential Job Responsibilities:\nLearn and apply the Ralliant Business System (RBS) lean manufacturing methods to support continuous improvement kaizen events and initiatives.\n\nAssist with standard work development including time studies, process observations, capacity analysis, line balancing, and workflow evaluation.\n\nCollect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, constraints, waste, and improvement opportunities.\n\nHelp design or improve fixtures, tooling, gauges, workstations, and material flow solutions using sound engineering practices.\n\nCreate or update basic layouts, drawings, bills of material, and technical documentation using available engineering tools.\n\nParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities for process, quality, equipment, and productivity issues.\n\nWork with operators and technicians to understand process challenges and develop practical, sustainable improvements.\n\nPrepare project updates, data summaries, recommendations, and final presentations for engineering and operations leadership.\n\nMay be assigned additional projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the manager or supervisor.\n\nCritical Success Factors: \nCompletes assigned projects with clear objectives, reliable data, practical recommendations, and documented results.\n\nDemonstrates safe work practices, curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in office and manufacturing settings.\n\nBuilds effective working relationships with operators, technicians, engineers, and cross-functional partners.\n\nCommunicates progress and findings clearly and applies feedback to improve the quality of work.\n\nEducation & Experience Required:\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a relatedtechnical discipline.\n\nAnticipated graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2028\n\nMinimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale\nDesired Skills:\nBasic understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and problem-solving methods.\n\nAbility to collect and analyze data using Microsoft Excel; experience with other analytical or visualization tools is helpful.\n\nExposure to CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or a comparable platform is preferred.\n\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work collaboratively with people in production, technical, and office roles.\n\nOrganizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assigned activities and deadlines.\n\nWillingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor and learn directly from operators and technical staff.\n\nCommitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and respectful workplace practices.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENT\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
