You will be designing, developing, customizing, creating prototypes, optimizing and testing. This role will interact with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, EE designers, manufacturing test engineers and peers from the global R&D organization. You will design, develop, and create 3D models, detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs, electro-mechanical parts, and gauges. The primary goal will be the design and development of new products and customizations for our Utilities and industrial customers. We use Agile development Methods and the Scrum Framework to deliver critical, customer-facing, solutions.\nHere’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiency:\nDesign complex components & assemblies with customer in mind focusing on Quality, Cost and DFM\n\nUtilize critical thinking for continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and process enhancements including but not limited to using automation and AI tools\n\nFabricate physical prototypes for proof of concept and testing\n\nMechanical and structural analysis as needed (FEA using SolidWorks)\n\nPresent mechanical design concepts to project teams\n\nEvaluate new components, materials, and manufacturing methods for application in new and existing products.\n\nVerify acceptance criteria is met, support transition to production, and perform failure analysis on problem areas.\n\nDocument features, issues, and tests in compliance with our internal processes\n\nBe able to derive configured product models from the existing products.\n\nAble to perform Engineering Change Requests that involve updating drawings and BOMs.\n\nEnsure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements\n\nConduct design reviews, assist in FMEA, PFMEA and supporting root cause analysis for mechanical issues\n\nThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:\nMust have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
