In this role, you will be responsible for verifying software and firmware used in industry-leading precision test and measurement instruments, ensuring products meet design requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.\nYou will work closely with software, firmware, and hardware engineers to develop and execute verification strategies that validate functional, performance, and quality requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with high-performance instrumentation while helping improve the reliability, usability, and customer experience of our products.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, and execute test plans to validate software and firmware functionality, performance, reliability, and compliance with requirements across embedded firmware, software applications, instrument communications, command interfaces, user experiences, and customer workflows.\n\nCreate and maintain automated tests, test frameworks, and supporting infrastructure to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.\n\nReview requirements, specifications, and design documentation to develop verification strategies and ensure adequate test coverage.\n\nAnalyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, isolate root causes, and collaborate with development teams to drive resolution.\nDocument verification results, track test progress, and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.\n\nCollaborate with software, firmware, and hardware engineers throughout the product lifecycle to ensure quality objectives are met.\n\nSupport project planning through effort estimation, risk assessment, and release readiness activities.\n\nContinuously improve verification processes, tools, and automation capabilities.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in software and/or firmware verification, test engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.\n\n3+ years of experience in software verification, firmware verification, or a related engineering role.\nExperience testing integrated software, firmware, and hardware systems.\nStrong programming skills in Python.\nExperience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks and automation solutions.\nExperience with source control systems such as Git.\nExperience creating test plans, test cases, test reports, and other verification documentation.\nStrong troubleshooting and debugging skills across software, firmware, and hardware interactions.\nAbility to analyze requirements and translate them into effective verification strategies.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility and desire to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.\n\nExperience using defect tracking and work management systems such as Jira.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience using test and measurement equipment such as digital multimeters (DMMs), source measure units (SMUs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, switch systems, data acquisition systems, or other electronic instrumentation.\nFamiliarity with other programming languages such as Lua, C#, or C++.\nFamiliarity with instrument communication and control technologies, including SCPI, VISA, IVI, and LXI-compliant instruments.\nExperience testing communication interfaces such as USB, LAN/Ethernet, GPIB, and
