Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.\nYou will join our Building Structures team\nAs our new Senior/Principal Structural Engineer, you will join a talented, diverse and highly collaborative team delivering a wide range of award-winning projects across the UK and internationally. Our work spans sculptures, stadia, healthcare, refurbishment, re-use and re-purposing, as well as complex new-build structures. You will play a key role in developing design solutions, mentoring colleagues and contributing to our collaborative culture, while helping to deliver projects that make a lasting impact on the built environment.\nYour key tasks and responsibilities will involve:\nDevelop and agree structural concepts and design philosophies\nInspire and enthuse the engineers and technicians on your projects\nLiaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings\nTake ownership as day-to-day lead on a project or part of a project\nPush the boundaries of low-carbon design\nYour key deliverables over the first 12 months will be:\nGrow and maintain a network of contacts and be a great ambassador for Ramboll\nLead the design process for a project (size suitable for level of experience)\nOutside day-to-day project work, collaborate with colleagues from the London team and beyond to support implementation of various aspects of the Ramboll Business Plan\nYour starting point for constant growth\nFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. We provide growth and development opportunities in a supportive environment with flexible and hybrid working, and care about our people’s wellbeing.\nFor this role, we believe your starting point is:\nChartered with the IStructE, ICE, or international equivalent\nAn excellent communicator capable of explaining complex engineering principles in plain language, verbally, in writing, and through sketching\nA track record of working on projects with high levels of design, sustainability, or re-use of existing assets\nExperience in the design of primary construction materials (steel, concrete, timber) and a good general knowledge of building construction; experience of MMC would be beneficial.\nA passion for sustainable solutions\nA multidisciplinary mindset and an aptitude for learning about the wider aspects of building design\nAn Interest in the commercial aspects of engineering services projects, experience with managing project change.\nExperience in the Assessment, retrofit and alteration of existing structures\nExposure to Construction supervision, building investigation and structural testing\nPersonal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:\nGreat with people\nDiverse in outlook and with something different to bring to the table\nA curiosity to explore - ‘is there a better way to do this’\nHappy to ask questions and to answer them!\nWillingness to take responsibility for your projects and development\nWelcome to our Buildings division\nAs one of the top 10 building designers in the world, Ramboll works on more than 10,000 building projects each year. 5,000 experts across the world specialise in creating more innovative, sustainable and liveable buildings.
