We focus our solutions on mobility-related projects that serve the needs of our communities within the municipal, transit, transportation, airport, and port sectors.\nWith a staff of diversified, licensed professionals, our philosophy stems from the idea that successful project execution starts with people.\nWe are seeking a Construction Engineer for Track to perform field engineering and inspection work as Owner's Representative on a light rail extension program's trackwork and systems construction contract. The Construction Engineer oversees the installation of trackwork and special trackwork, including turnouts and crossovers, direct fixation, embedded, and ballasted track, and reviews the work of the Contractor in accordance with the applicable Design Criteria Manual, Construction Management Manual, and all governing specifications.\nThe Construction Engineer documents contractor activities, verifies quantities, and identifies issues that may require a change order.\nResponsibilities\nPerforms field inspections of trackwork and special trackwork installation to determine compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.\nInspects and documents track alignment, gauge, cross level, superelevation, rail fastening, and rail welding activities.\nWitnesses and documents turnout and crossover assembly and installation, and confirms compliance with tolerances.\nReviews contractor operations for compliance with OSHA regulations and Authority safety requirements.\nReviews trackwork submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications.\nTracks and inspects rail, special trackwork, and other track material deliveries, storage, and protection.\nWitnesses quality control testing performed by the Contractor.\nProvides technical and field construction engineering support to the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager.\nCoordinates surveying, inspections, and verification testing, and coordinates daily reports and document control.\nCompletes Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) and maintains complete and accurate project records.\nCalculates and documents field quantities for payment purposes.\nIdentifies non-conforming work, communicates it to the Resident Engineer and quality management staff, documents it in the IDR, and tracks corrective actions to resolution.\nCoordinates track interfaces with civil, traction power and OCS, train control, and communications work.\nDocuments as-built conditions, including redline markups.\nSupports punch list, track acceptance, and closeout activities.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred; an equivalent combination of trackwork construction experience and technical training will be considered.\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.\nApproximately 5+ years of field engineering or inspection experience on trackwork for light rail, heavy rail, or other rail systems.\nWorking knowledge of AREMA standards and transit agency track design criteria.\nExperience with special trackwork installation preferred.\nMust be able to work on-site in Seattle full-time during construction.\nAbility to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.\nCompensation: $110,000 to $175,000 per year (depending on qualifications)\nWhat We Offer\nRamos Consulting Services, now a part of Colliers Engineering & Design, offers competitive benefits that support our employees in their life and career.
