We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.\nIf you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.\nAbout the Role\nRamp is seeking a 2LoD Compliance Strategist to provide dedicated independent second-line assurance across Ramp UK & Irish regulated businesses.\nThis is a hands-on role for someone who can turn regulatory expectations into a practical, evidence-led monitoring and assurance programme.\nThe role sits within Ramp's Europe Compliance function and supports the Head of Compliance & MLRO - Europe. You will not own first-line operational decisions or perform routine casework. Instead, you will independently test and challenge the design and operation of financial-crime, safeguarding, payments, outsourcing, governance, and regulatory-change controls. You will make sure that findings are understood, remediated by accountable owners, and independently validated before closure.\nRamp Payments Europe is developing across multiple legal entities, jurisdictions, payment rails, banking partners, product journeys, and shared Group services. The successful candidate will help give management and Boards a clear, reliable view of whether controls work in practice and where action is needed.\nWhat You'll Do\nRun a practical, risk-based compliance monitoring programme across Ramps European entities.\n\nTest key controls and identify gaps, with a focus on whether they work in practice.\n\nSupport assurance over financial-crime, payments, safeguarding, and outsourced-service controls.\n\nTrack regulatory, Board, partner, audit, and internal commitments to ensure actions are completed on time.\n\nManage findings and remediation, helping accountable teams resolve issues and confirming actions are closed.\n\nProduce clear reporting for management and Boards on key risks, control issues, incidents, and progress.\n\nProvide independent compliance input and advisory on significant product, payments, outsourcing, and operational changes.\n\nDeputise for the Head of Compliance & MLRO where required.\n\nWhat You Need\nMin. 4 year of experience in compliance, risk, audit, controls, or regulatory change within payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated environment.\n\nExperience supporting compliance monitoring, control testing, issue management, remediation, or governance reporting.\n\nWorking knowledge of UK and/or EU financial-services regulation, with the ability to apply requirements pragmatically in a fast-moving environment.\n\nFamiliarity with financial-crime controls such as customer due diligence, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, or record keeping.\n\nAn interest in areas such as payments, safeguarding, outsourcing, operational resilience, or third-party oversight.\n\nStrong judgement and communication skills, with the confidence to identify issues, explain risk clearly, and work constructively with stakeholders.\n\nComfortable working independently, managing priorities, and partnering with Product, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Risk teams.\n\nCurious about using AI responsibly to improve compliance analysis, monitoring, or documentation.\n\nNice-to-Haves\nExperience in a UK payment institution, e-money institution, bank, card issuer, acquiring business, or payments fintech.\n\nExperience supporting FCA-facing work, banking-partner due diligence requirements.\n\nExperience with Consumer Duty,
