Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, you will contribute to the efficient management of health information and support quality improvement activities within the department.

About You:

You are an organised and detail-oriented individual with strong administrative skills and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

You are comfortable working with computer systems and managing information and documentation in a busy environment. You have excellent communication skills, a professional approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process, retrieve and manage medical records for authorised requests and clinical needs.
  • Accurately track, scan, file, archive and securely store medical records.
  • Respond to internal and external enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy and accurate documentation.
  • Follow up outstanding records, including discharge summaries and pathology results.
  • Complete discharge procedures in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain archive, forms and other departmental registers.
  • Supply medical record forms to hospital departments as required.
  • Support quality improvement activities within Health Information Services.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams.

You Will Also Bring

  • Previous administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
  • Experience with medical records or health information is highly regarded.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
  • Good time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong computer, keyboard, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently locate, process and maintain records.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness to learn and follow policies and procedures.
