You’ll work closely with our founder and our hardware and firmware teams to turn product requirements into reliable, easy-to-use features, and help take the product from prototype through commercial deployment.\nThis is an AI-first seat: we expect you to use LLMs every day and to build lightweight tools and workflows that let a small team produce the output of a much larger one\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and improve Ranchflow’s mobile app, web dashboard, backend services, and APIs.\nBuild features for livestock tracking, virtual fence management, paddock planning, grazing history, alerts, and device management.\nDesign reliable data flows between collars, gateways, cloud services, and user applications.\nWork with the firmware team to define device communication interfaces, boundary updates, acknowledgements, and synchronization when connectivity is intermittent.\nDevelop map-based tools for drawing and editing paddocks, viewing animal locations, and reviewing historical activity.\nImprove onboarding, farm setup, collar pairing, and the overall farmer experience.\nOwn database design, cloud deployment, monitoring, security, and platform performance.\nEstablish practical standards for code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and release management.\nBreak product requirements into technical tasks and help coordinate delivery as the team grows.\nRequirements\nWhat you’ll bring\nTwo or more years of professional software development experience delivering production software used by real customers.\nStrong full-stack skills, including backend services, APIs, databases, and modern web or mobile applications.\nExperience taking ownership of software architecture decisions.\nExperience deploying and operating applications on a major cloud platform.\nA strong understanding of authentication, access control, data security, and reliable system design.\nExperience with automated testing, CI/CD, Git, and collaborative code reviews.\nThe ability to troubleshoot problems across applications, backend services, and connected systems.\nStrong communication skills and comfort working in a small team where priorities evolve through field testing and customer feedback.\nNice to have\nExperience with IoT platforms, connected devices, or hardware-integrated products.\nExperience with mapping, geospatial databases, GPS data, or location-based applications.\nExperience with offline functionality, intermittent connectivity, and data synchronization.\nFamiliarity with device messaging protocols such as MQTT.\nExperience with mobile app releases, device onboarding, Bluetooth, or NFC.\nExposure to agriculture, livestock management, or other field-deployed technology.\nBenefits\nPremier Health Insurance plan with $0 deductible and $0 co-pay\nDental and vision insurance plans\nFlexible spending account options\nOpen Paid Time Off Policy plus nine paid public holidays\nParticipation in our 401(k) savings plan\nCompany-paid Life and AD&D coverage\nEducational materials and expenses to support related development\nAbout Soilworks Natural Capital:\nRanchflow AI is proud to be a portfolio company of Soilworks Natural Capital, a private equity fund that invests in, incubates, and acquires companies to help accelerate the Regenerative Agriculture movement.
