Engage the guest to ensure memorable and impactful experience.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nAnticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.\nPrepare and serve alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages\nProvide prompt, efficient and gracious service to guests, including artfully describing menu items, taking food and beverage orders and correct use of the point of sale computer system, ensuring timely service.\nCorrectly settles all guest checks in accordance with the cash and payment handling policies.\nIs accurate with gratuity calculations and distributions in accordance with company gratuity program\nMonitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas in accordance with departmental procedures.\nWork quickly and safely at all times.\nMaintain and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.\nMaintain positive guest relations at all times.\nBe familiar with hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.\nActively participates in Safety Programs and abides by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements.\nParticipates in and supports hotels efforts towards community, sustainability and environmental initiatives.\nPerform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.\nRequirements\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\nMust be a minimum of 21 years of age.\n12 - 24 months current experience as a bartender in a resort environment.\nValid San Diego County Food Handlers Card\nAbility to communicate in English with vendors, guests and staff, to their understanding.\nDesirable\n6 months experience as barback.\nPrevious Culinary experience.\nHigh school graduate or GED-equivalent.\nCertification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.\nCertification in alcohol awareness program.\nCertification in CPR.\nSKILLS\nRequired\nAbility to anticipate and understand guests’ needs.\nAbility to move quickly and safely through workspace.\nAbility to focus attention on service details.\nAbility to follow directions thoroughly.\nAbility to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.\n PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nFrequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.\nConstant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping,\nturning, finger dexterity.\nFrequent need to stand for long periods of time.\nLifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. frequently and 40 lbs. occasionally.\nVision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.\nHearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff.
