Position directs and works with managers and employees to carry out procedures for a clean resort. Ensures guest and employee satisfaction and maximizes the financial performance of the department. Availability of PM shifts is needed\n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nUtilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example\nSupervises and leads employees in the day to day operation.\nAssists the Director of Housekeeping in managing daily activities\nActs as liaison to coordinate the efforts of housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, Spa, Villas and Laundry.\nDocuments and resolves issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk\nPrepares, distributes, and communicates changes in assignment sheets/workboards\nCommunicates issues to the next shift(s)\nStocks and inspects all mini bars\nAssists room attendants and cleans rooms when needed\nPrepares written daily room inspections for each room attendant\nCoach and train employees or when appropriate, escalates performance matters to the Manager for proper performance management.\nMaintains proper inventory levels of all required supplies for the room attendants to do their job\nMaintains excellent communication with other departments especially with Front Desk and Villas\nSpeaks with others using clear and professional language and answers phone using appropriate etiquette\nWelcomes and acknowledges all guests, anticipates and addresses guests service needs, assists individuals with disabilities, and thanks guests with genuine appreciation\nPerforms all tasks of a housekeeping coordinator staff as needed to facilitate service\nProvides golf cart transportation when needed\nStrives to improve service performance\nAnalyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints\nServes as a departmental role model, and assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating and coaching employees\nEmpower employees to provide excellent service\nProvide feedback to employees based on observation and service behaviors\nInteracts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service\nMonitors linen closets, ensure the cleanliness and maintenance\nEstablishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees\nEnsure employee recognition is taking place on all shifts\nCommunicates critical information from staff meetings, pre and post convention meetings to the Guest services staff\nParticipates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans based on review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results\nActively participates in safety programs, abides by all injury reporting and safety behavior requirements, actively makes efforts to instill a safety-minded culture in the workplace and leads department safety training.\nParticipates in and supports hotels efforts towards community service, sustainability and environmental initiatives.\nPerforms other duties as directed, developed or assigned.\nRequirements\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\nMinimum of two years Housekeeping supervisory experience in four or five diamond resort\nKnowledge of property management system preferably Springer Miller\nAbility to communicate in English with vendors, guests and staff, to their understanding.\nFlexible work schedule including weekends, holidays and AM/PM shifts\nValid CA Drivers license and ability to operate golf carts and hotel cars\nDesirable\nPrior Five Diamond Resort and Spa experience\nDynamic and personable\nPrevious experience in other Rooms Division departments\nSKILLS\nRequired\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.\nGeneral computer skills\nAbility to motivate assigned staff and maintain a cohesive team.\nAbility to motivate assigned staff training needs and provide such training.\nAbility to focus attention to details.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.\nAbility to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.\nAbility to prioritize, organize and follow through.\nAbility to resolve problems using good judgment\nDesirable\nForeign language communication skills.\nPrevious Resort grand opening experience\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nFrequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.
