Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. As a Project Engineer I in Bend, you will help deliver engineering and capital projects that support the manufacture of life-changing therapies.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your engineering and project management experience while working alongside experienced technical professionals in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
This role is a fully onsite position. Working together in person supports close, realtime collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

- Lead small engineering and operational improvement projects from planning through completion.
- Support larger capital projects while learning from experienced project and engineering leaders.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
- Support equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and qualification activities.
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, engineering standards, and equipment reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Up to three years of engineering experience in manufacturing or another regulated industry.
- Internship, co-op, or project experience supporting engineering projects is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with project management principles and engineering design concepts.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, or similar engineering tools is beneficial.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organization, and collaboration skills.
