The Engineering Drafter may also assist in developing and updating installation instructions, product instructions, and other technical documentation for new and existing products.\nRequirements\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nCreate detailed part and assembly drawings from 3D solid models.\nApply proper Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices to engineering drawings.\nReview drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and adherence to company standards.\nCreate new products, parts, part numbers, assemblies, and related records within the ERP system.\nEnter and maintain accurate product and part information within the ERP system.\nUpdate existing ERP records as products, components, specifications, or other information changes.\nCreate and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), component relationships, and supporting product information.\nAssist with costing of components, parts, and assemblies.\nMaintain engineering spreadsheets, documentation, and project information.\nAssist with writing, updating, and maintaining installation instructions, product instructions, and other technical documentation for new and existing products.\nWork with engineering, product, manufacturing, purchasing, and other departments to resolve drawing, product data, or technical documentation issues.\nSupport new product development and existing product improvement projects as needed.\nMaintain awareness of new technologies, software, and processes that may improve engineering efficiency, documentation, or product development.\nFollow company safety policies and procedures and perform work in a safe and responsible manner.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nJob Requirements Summary\nThe ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced product development and manufacturing environment. Candidates should be able to take an existing 3D model and independently develop accurate manufacturing drawings while also maintaining the supporting product and part information required within company systems.\nThis person should be comfortable working with both technical drawings and product data, ensuring that information is accurate, complete, and maintained as products evolve. The role may also require translating engineering and product information into clear installation or product instructions.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nApproximately 2+ years of related drafting, engineering, manufacturing, or technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nProficiency with SolidWorks, including creation of detailed part and assembly drawings.\nWorking knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing practices.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.\nExperience entering, maintaining, or managing product and part information within an ERP, MRP, PDM, or similar business system.\nAbility to accurately create and maintain part numbers, product records, Bills of Material, and supporting technical data.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to drawing and data accuracy.\nAbility to solve practical technical problems and work through situations where limited information or standardization exists.\nProficiency with spreadsheet software, including Microsoft Excel or similar applications.\nStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to clearly document technical information and assist in the creation of product or installation instructions.\nAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in a manufacturing, automotive, mechanical, or product development environment.\nExperience creating and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs).\nExperience maintaining product master data within an ERP or manufacturing system.\nFamiliarity with component and assembly costing.\nExperience with ERP, PDM, PLM, inventory, or manufacturing software.\nExperience creating installation instructions, technical documentation, or product manuals.\nUnderstanding of common machining, fabrication, casting, forging, or other manufacturing processes.\nKey Competencies\nTechnical Knowledge: Demonstrates strong drafting and engineering documentation skills and continuously develops technical knowledge.\nData Accuracy: Maintains accurate and complete product, part, BOM, and ERP information and understands the importance of high-quality product data.\nAttention to Detail: Produces accurate, complete, and high-quality drawings, product records, and technical documentation.\nProblem Solving: Identifies issues, gathers relevant information, and develops practical solutions.\nTechnology: Effectively uses SolidWorks, ERP systems, spreadsheets, and other technical tools to improve productivity.\nTechnical Communication: Communicates technical information clearly and is able to translate engineering information into understandable drawings, records, and product instructions.\nTeamwork: Works collaboratively with engineering, product, manufacturing, purchasing, and other departments to support successful product development and maintenance.\nContinuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve drawing standards, ERP data, documentation, processes, and overall efficiency.\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, or perform similar physical activities.
