This is an opportunity to take ownership of production processes at a company building one of the most advanced aerospace foundries in the world. You will work directly on the factory floor to improve throughput, equipment uptime, process reliability, and the transition from low-rate production to volume manufacturing.

You will have the chance to work across hardware, software, automation, equipment, technicians, and production workflows rather than sitting in a narrow engineering lane. This role is a strong fit for someone who likes practical engineering, data-informed problem solving, and building scalable manufacturing systems in a high-ownership environment.

What you’ll do

• Review designs for producibility and lead tasks that transition hardware from low-rate initial production to volume production.
• Research, design, modify, and test production methods and equipment based on a deep understanding of hardware and software requirements.
• Improve production efficiency and effectiveness by analyzing workflows, optimizing space utilization, and maximizing equipment throughput without compromising quality.
• Establish standards, design testing methods, and implement rate production validation processes to support hardware and process quality.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize process information and trends to inform production strategy and propose solutions for future throughput and cost targets.
• Support equipment uptime and technician utilization to ensure conforming hardware is delivered on schedule.
• Develop, qualify, and implement automation solutions that support production ramp and manufacturing reliability.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to solve issues quickly and improve factory execution.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, ABET accreditation required, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in aggregating and analyzing technical data to make objective, data-informed decisions.
• Proficiency in process development using DOE or similar multi-path experimental approaches.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization.
• Competency with CAD software.
• Must be able to work full-time, W2, onsite in El Segundo, CA.
• This role may require access to ITAR-controlled technical data. Candidates must be currently authorized to access ITAR-controlled information as a U.S. person, including as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Preferred qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or test engineering in aerospace, automotive, or commercial industries.
• Experience in the investment casting industry.
• Intermediate CAD modeling capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to scale production throughput.
• Familiarity with WMS, MES, and ERP systems.
• Experience qualifying, operating, and maintaining industrial equipment.

Additional requirements

• Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.

Compensation

Please note that the compensation information below is a general guideline. Compensation is based on demonstrated candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Level 2: $108,000 - $132,000 annually + equity

Level 3IC: $126,000 - $154,000 annually + equity
