Preference will be given to candidates based in London or the surrounding area.\nEmployment Type: Full-time\nTeam: DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering\nRole Type: Individual Contributor\nExperience: Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience; typically 5-7+ years\nAbout RapidFort\nRapidFort helps organisations secure their software supply chains, reduce software vulnerabilities, and minimise the attack surface of containerised applications.\nWe are looking for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer with strong Linux, Kubernetes, and Bash skills to support the production and delivery environments behind our SaaS platform.\nThe Role\nThis is a hands-on individual contributor position for an engineer who can independently investigate production issues, manage deployments, respond to incidents, and take ownership of operational requests.\nYou will support the day-to-day operation of our platform while improving automation, monitoring, documentation, and operational processes. You should be comfortable troubleshooting beyond documented runbooks, gathering diagnostic evidence, and exercising sound judgment about remediation and escalation.\nYou will work closely with our DevOps, SRE, and Development teams within a follow-the-sun operational model, initially covering India and Europe. This position supports scheduled European coverage and participates in an on-call rotation.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonitor production and SaaS environments, respond to alerts, and proactively investigate potential issues.\n\nTroubleshoot Linux, Kubernetes, application, and cloud infrastructure problems using logs, metrics, events, and diagnostic tools.\n\nInvestigate failed or restarting workloads, deployment failures, resource constraints, configuration problems, and service connectivity issues.\n\nExecute application and platform deployments using established processes and tooling.\n\nTrigger, monitor, and troubleshoot software builds and CI/CD release workflows.\n\nPerform approved remediation and rollback procedures, validating service health after changes.\n\nOwn operational requests through resolution or a clear, accepted handoff to the appropriate team.\n\nCoordinate incident response when required, engage relevant engineers, and communicate service impact and investigation progress.\n\nEscalate complex issues with clear findings, supporting evidence, and details of actions already taken.\n\nWrite and maintain Bash scripts to automate recurring operational tasks.\n\nCreate, maintain, and improve runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation.\n\nParticipate in incident reviews and help address recurring problems.\n\nIdentify improvements to monitoring, alerting, deployment reliability, and operational efficiency.\n\nProvide clear handoffs between regional shifts and participate in scheduled coverage and on-call responsibilities.\n\nEssential Experience & Skills\nAt least 5 years of relevant hands-on experience, typically 5-7+ years, in cloud operations, platform operations, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a comparable technical role.\n\nProven experience supporting live production environments and independently investigating operational issues.\n\nStrong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, including processes, services, permissions, filesystems, resource utilisation, and network connectivity.\n\nHands-on experience operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads in production.\n\nPractical Bash scripting experience, including writing, reading, and troubleshooting scripts for operational tasks.\n\nExperience using Git and working with CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and release workflows.\n\nHands-on experience with at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.\n\nExperience using monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.\n\nWorking knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, ports, and connectivity troubleshooting.\n\nExperience responding to production incidents and following controlled change procedures.\n\nKubernetes Troubleshooting\nYou must be comfortable using Kubernetes tooling to investigate problems and explain your findings. This includes:\nUsing kubectl get, kubectl describe, and kubectl logs to inspect workloads and diagnose issues.\n\nReviewing current and previous container logs, Kubernetes events, and workload configuration.\n\nTroubleshooting CrashLoopBackOff, image pull failures, scheduling problems, and failing health probes.\n\nInvestigating resource requests and limits, application configuration, and service connectivity.\n\nSelecting appropriate remediation steps and validating recovery.\n\nWe are looking for practical understanding: the ability to explain what you are checking, interpret the evidence, and decide what to do next.\nDesirable Experience\nHelm and Kubernetes application configuration.\n\nTerraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.\n\nPython or another scripting language.\n\nCloud IAM, networking, load balancing, and storage.\n\nContainer registries and container image troubleshooting.\n\nOperational support for databases and other stateful services.\n\nFollow-the-sun operations and regional incident handoffs.\n\nEnterprise SaaS or cybersecurity environments.\n\nExperience with one major cloud platform is sufficient. Strong Linux, Kubernetes, and Bash skills are essential; experience with every additional technology listed is not required.\nHow You Work\nTake ownership of issues and follow through to resolution.\n\nInvestigate systematically and use evidence to guide decisions.\n\nUnderstand the impact of production changes and recognise when to act, seek input, or escalate.\n\nCommunicate clearly during incidents, technical investigations, and regional handoffs.\n\nWork independently during assigned coverage while collaborating with a globally distributed team.\n\nLook for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and prevent recurring problems.\n\nThis is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities. A specific degree or professional certification is not required.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nWithin your first few months, you will be able to:\nIndependently handle routine deployments, builds, and operational requests.\n\nDiagnose and resolve common Linux and Kubernetes production issues.\n\nRespond to alerts with a structured investigation and appropriate remediation.\n\nProvide clear diagnostic findings when escalating complex incidents.\n\nReliably support European operational coverage and regional handoffs.\n\nImprove runbooks, automate repetitive tasks, and help reduce recurring incidents.\n\nCareer Development\nAs your understanding of RapidFort’s platform grows, you will have opportunities to expand your technical ownership across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, observability, and reliability engineering.\nProgression can remain on an individual contributor path, with increasing technical scope and responsibility.\nLocation & Working Arrangements\nLocation: You must be based in the United Kingdom. This position is fully remote.\nWork Authorisation: You must already have the right to work in the United Kingdom. RapidFort cannot provide visa sponsorship for this position.\nSchedule: The role includes scheduled European operational coverage and an on-call rotation. Occasional work outside normal hours may be required for incidents or planned operational activities. Coverage hours, on-call frequency, and applicable compensation or time-off arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.\nInterview Process\nThe interview process includes a practical technical assessment covering Linux troubleshooting, Kubernetes operations, Bash scripting, and production incident scenarios.\nCandidates will be expected to demonstrate a structured investigation, explain their choice of commands, interpret diagnostic output, and identify appropriate remediation or escalation steps.","description_format":"text","description_chars":7980,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United Kingdom","iso":"GB","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Cybersecurity","Cloud Security","DevSecOps"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-19T18:31:13Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":6,"expected_fill_days":35,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-26T05:57:25Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/rapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/rapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-26T22:42:09Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":30743,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-27T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":1398},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=1398"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Frapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Frapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Frapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/rapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Frapidfort-cloud-operations-engineer-linux-kubernetes"}]}
