Vehicle Testing - Intern

Who are we:

Raptee Energy is a full- stack electric motorcycle startup with a very strong technical moat, founded in 2019 by four engineers from Chennai (Ex Tesla, Wipro), working on bringing a no-compromise upgrade motorcycle to an otherwise scooter- only EV market. Raptee is incubated at CIIC & ARAI.

Role Overview:

Join our team as a Vehicle Testing Intern and work on optimizing two-wheeler performance. You’ll collaborate with CAD engineers, assist in building test rigs and data acquisition systems, and explore key dynamics areas like suspension geometry, identifying problems and be working on devising a solution for the problems with various test methods. You'll also support simulation efforts using MATLAB and Ansys to model real-world performance. A great opportunity to get hands-on experience in dynamic testing and simulation.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with the CAD team to optimize the design for improved dynamics.
• Create test rigs and Data-Acquisition systems to validate and test vehicle characteristics.
• Work on areas like suspension geometry, tire characteristics, spring and damper settings, two-wheeler cornering characteristics, straight-line dynamics etc.
• Construct mathematical models to simulate the vehicle's performance across various use cases using software like Matlab and Adams.

Who Can Apply?

• Basic knowledge of FMEA
• Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and design of machine elements
• Prior experience of working with data acquisition systems and creating mathematical models to compute the acquired data
• Prior experience with softwares like Matlab, Altair Suite, or Ansys
• Motorcycle riding experience is preferred
