Sitting at the intersection of fintech, regulatory compliance, and data privacy, you will serve as the subject matter expert on Brazilian financial legislation, payment ecosystem regulations, and data privacy laws (LGPD). Operating as an Individual Contributor, you will navigate complex local frameworks to safeguard our operations and support Rapyd’s rapid growth across the region.\nAI at Rapyd\nWe're at the point where AI handles the repetitive heavy lifting and we're looking for someone already thinking that way. Whether it's accelerating complex regulatory research, synthesizing BACEN directives, or automating policy documentation to focus on strategic risk management, if you've ever caught yourself optimizing routine compliance workflows before anyone asked you to, you'll fit right in here.\nKey Responsabilities\nServe as the primary subject matter expert on Brazilian financial laws, Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN) regulations, LGPD, and local payment ecosystem standards, specifically focusing on payment aggregators (credenciadores/subcredenciadores).\nManage integration dynamics, regulatory reporting, and compliance operational flows with financial market infrastructures (IMFs), including CERC and CIP (Núclea) for credit card clearing and receivables registration.\nMonitor, interpret, and implement local regulatory changes, assessing impact and ensuring full operational readiness.\nManage regulatory relationships, audits, and official inquiries with local authorities and financial ecosystem partners.\nDraft, review, and maintain local compliance policies, internal controls, data privacy documentation, and commercial agreements.\nOversee anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and know-your-customer (KYC) frameworks tailored to Brazilian requirements.\nPartner directly with global Legal and Risk teams to align local operations with Rapyd's overall strategic vision.\nServe as the local point of contact for Rapyd's Data Protection Officer (DPO) function in Brazil, managing LGPD compliance, data subject requests, and interactions with the ANPD.\nRequirements\n Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Brazilian regulatory landscape, BACEN directives, LGPD, and payment aggregator operational models (credenciamento/subcredenciamento).\nClearance & Settlement Experience: Hands-on experience dealing with credit card settlement systems and receivables registrars, specifically CERC and CIP (Núclea).\nTrack Record: Demonstrated success in a Compliance, Legal, or Regulatory role within a fintech, payment institution, or high-growth financial service provider in Brazil.\nExecution & Autonomy: Strong Individual Contributor mindset-capable of driving end-to-end legal, regulatory, and compliance initiatives independently without requiring a team of direct reports.\n Language & Presence: Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and verbal).\nNice to Have\nActive membership or qualification with the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB).\nPrevious experience supporting licensing processes or direct audits with BACEN and local banking partners.\nJob Candidate Privacy Policy -
