We are seeking an individual with between one and five-years’ experience to fill the Associate Attorney position for our Wyoming or Montana practice. This individual will handle all aspects of litigation and should welcome the challenges of a dynamic legal environment and be open to some work-related travel.\n\nQualified candidates must be energetic, self-directed and capable of managing his or her own case load. Responsibilities will include a wide variety of tasks associated with litigating debt collection matters. While litigation is the key role, we seek attorneys who can independently engage in risk analysis and develop strategies that adhere to state and federal rules and regulations, and compliance standards.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.\n\nReview of correspondence, and files to determine whether they are suit appropriate, review of answers, preparation of discovery and disposition motions, and all aspects of preparing for and conducting trials.\n\nRepresent clients in pre-judgment and post-judgment matters.\n\nAttend court hearings\n\nProvide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.\n\nAttorney should be familiar with state and federal consumer laws and keep abreast of any changes in state or local rules.\n\nAbility to effectively manage his or her own caseload.\n\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\n\nBackground in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings.\n\nKnowledge of federal, state and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.\n\nExperience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience is preferred.\n\nMaintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public.\n\nAbility to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, etc. Also to write, review, and edit reports,\n\nopinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.\n\nKnowledge in Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nLicensed to practice law in Wyoming or Montana with the ability to obtain additional licenses.\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to prioritize and organize high volumes of information.\n\nAbility to work in a deadline-driven environment.\n\nAbility to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\n\nFrequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects.\n\nMay be required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.\n\nMust be able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds at times.\n\nWork Environment:\nThe position is remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.\n\nSchedule:\n\n8am to 5pm Monday
