Join a small engineering group as its first dedicated electrical engineer, taking ownership of an onboard computer for an upcoming flight program. You will also contribute to the electronics design for a later, larger system, splitting your time between the lab bench and collaboration with outside manufacturing partners.\nWhat you'll do\n- Own the design of the onboard flight computer, with delivery in the first 90 days as the top priority.\n- Prototype on the bench, bring up new boards and troubleshoot problems in the lab alongside engineering leadership.\n- Collaborate with external manufacturers on the electronics and compute hardware for a larger production system.\n- Help guide decisions about high-speed data links between processors and evaluate optical alternatives.\n- Develop low-level code and supporting software for the payload as the need arises.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for\n- Solid grounding in high-speed digital design, including signal and power integrity.\n- Hands-on experience taking custom boards or system boards from schematic capture through high-speed layout, bring-up and debugging.\n- At least 1 year at a high-growth startup, with exposure to building things from zero.\n- A degree in electrical or computer engineering, or comparable practical experience.\n- Ability to work on-site five days a week in Los Angeles, CA.\n- Open to any level, from a promising new graduate to a veteran with 10+ years of experience.\nBonus points\n- Prior work at the silicon level on processors, accelerators or large custom chips.\n- A track record of working closely with outside electronics manufacturers.\n- Familiarity with optical networking or related data-communication technologies.\n- Background at well-known aerospace, semiconductor or hardware companies.\n- Exposure to hardware built for harsh environments such as spaceflight.\nBenefits\nCompensation and
