You will write production code, extend the platform, and personally deploy agentic AI systems into sensitive government environments. You will own the full arc from scoping and integration through live operation and customer trust.\nWhat you'll do\nBuild production features and extend agent capabilities with the core engineering team.\nDeploy and operate agentic AI systems in government and defense environments.\nOwn integrations, infrastructure, live operation, troubleshooting, and technical customer relationships.\nBuild rapid prototypes and field-expedient solutions under ambiguous conditions.\nTurn field requirements and edge cases into durable product improvements.\nMaintain infrastructure across varied hardware, networking, and security environments.\nTravel periodically to federal customer sites, primarily in the Washington, D.C. and DMV area.\nRequirements\n4 to 7 years of experience as a software engineer or Forward Deployed Engineer.\nStrong engineering fundamentals and production Python fluency.\nComfort with Linux, shell scripting, integrations, infrastructure, and hands-on debugging.\nExperience owning a deployment end to end in a client-facing or internal environment.\nExperience doing technical work in an unstructured, customer-facing, or field environment.\nSuccess in a high-bar engineering organization, ideally a venture-backed startup or leading defense-technology company.\nStrong communication, judgment, urgency, and independent execution.\nU.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance. An active clearance is strongly preferred.\nAbility to work five days per week in the New York City office and travel periodically to federal customers.\nBenefits\n$180,000 to $250,000 base salary.\n0.30% to 0.48% equity.\nRelocation support is available.\nDirect ownership of mission-critical deployments and core product development.\nOpportunity to join a small, high-caliber team at an early stage.\nThis role cannot sponsor visas.
