Own the design and delivery of electromechanical systems for a consumer hardware product, working across mechanical, electrical and firmware disciplines. You will move designs from early prototype through to production-ready units, partnering with software colleagues and vendors along the way.\nWhat you'll do\n- Design complete hardware systems, including mechanical CAD, circuit board layouts, cable harnesses and battery management, owning projects from concept to assembly.\n- Write and debug firmware for microcontrollers and programmable logic when bringing up new boards.\n- Build quick prototypes and refine them into polished, production-ready products.\n- Work closely with software and AI colleagues so hardware and software decisions support each other.\n- Review teammates' designs, coordinate with outside vendors and contribute to manufacturing processes that can grow with demand.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for\n- 1 to 5 years of experience in hardware engineering.\n- A track record of building physical products or projects from scratch, such as an electric bike or a 3D printer.\n- Strong ownership, including leading a complex cross-functional project to completion.\n- Experience working across the full hardware stack.\n- Ability to design PCBs and mechanical CAD models.\n- Proficiency in Python and C or C++, plus firmware and low-level programming experience.\n- A degree in electrical, mechanical or aerospace engineering, computer science or mathematics.\n- Experience at an early-stage robotics company, research lab or top engineering organization.\n- Strong opinions, originality and pride in craft.\n- Willingness to work some Sundays from home.\nBenefits\nCompensation and
