Join a very small engineering group as an experienced hands-on engineer who also acts as a product owner. You will deliver new user-facing features and AI-driven functionality, help define technical direction and quality standards, and coach less experienced engineers as the team expands.\nWhat you'll do\n- Lead the new build for upcoming enterprise client deliverables, along with related updates to an existing consumer application.\n- Work directly with company leadership to shape the product roadmap for the coming months and year.\n- Build, debug and evaluate LLM-based agents, including prompt design and testing harnesses.\n- Take ownership of security and compliance readiness within the first 90 days.\n- Mentor and lead other engineers by assigning work, reviewing code and helping hire future teammates.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for\n- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 6 to 10 years ideal.\n- Experience taking user-facing products from zero to one at a startup or a leading product company.\n- Proven ability to build both front-end and back-end features, using React, Python and a major cloud platform.\n- Hands-on experience running LLM-powered features in production, including coordinating multiple agents, designing inputs, testing quality, adding safeguards and monitoring behavior.\n- Experience coaching and guiding other engineers.\n- A high bar for quality, strong ownership, low ego and good judgment about how decisions affect end users.\n- Ability to work on-site five days a week in Boston.\n- U.S. work authorization.\nBonus points\n- Prior work as a founding engineer or in a technical leadership role.\n- Background in healthcare or another regulated field.\n- Familiarity with security and privacy compliance frameworks.\n- Interest in user interface craft and experience with design tools.\n- Degree from a top-tier
