Develop production control and localization systems for heavy autonomous vehicles operating in challenging industrial environments.\nWhat you'll do\n- Design and tune MPC and PID algorithms for autonomous vehicles across changing loads and terrain.\n- Develop localization and state-estimation pipelines using GPS/RTK, IMUs, and other sensors.\n- Analyze field tests and recorded logs to diagnose control issues.\n- Integrate controls with perception, planning, and hardware systems.\n- Travel to customer sites for deployment, testing, and tuning.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for\n- 3 to 10 years of relevant robotics controls experience.\n- Production deployment experience with localization, navigation, or lateral and longitudinal control on real autonomous vehicles.\n- Hands-on ROS, Linux, and model predictive control experience.\n- Strong Python and C++ programming, with Kalman filtering and sensor-fusion knowledge.\n- A degree in robotics, mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering.\nBonus points\n- Experience in autonomous mining or heavy vehicles.\n- A master's degree or PhD in a controls-related discipline.\nBenefits\nCompensation and benefits\n- Base salary: USD 170,000 to 220,000 per year.\n- Equity: Competitive equity.\n- Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.\n- 401(k), FSA/HSA options, and commuter benefits.\n- Annual performance-based bonus.\n- Flexible time off, paid holidays, sick time, and parental leave.\nLocation and work model\n- Five days per week onsite in San Francisco, with up to 15% travel to customer sites.
