Build and extend backend-focused features for a web application, working alongside founders to shape system design, mentor peers and take clear ownership of a product area from the ground up.\nWhat you'll do\n- Design and build core product features with broad scope and independence, alongside the founding leadership.\n- Ship large feature work that drives direct business growth.\n- Review code and technical designs to raise the quality of the whole engineering team.\n- Become the go-to owner for a major part of the product.\n- Interview, onboard and coach new engineers as the team expands.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for\n- 4 or more years of professional software engineering experience.\n- Strong backend engineering background, with prior experience as a founder considered a plus.\n- Hands-on experience running mature production web codebases in Python and a modern JavaScript framework.\n- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.\n- Formal training in an engineering discipline at the undergraduate or graduate level.\nBonus points\n- Experience solving production scaling problems.\n- Experience with search engines, data ingestion pipelines, document processing or high-volume messaging systems.\n- Experience managing one or two engineers for at least a year.\n- Familiarity with compliance standards and financial industry work.\n- Experience at a
