Join a litigation practice as a mid-level attorney representing clients in tax disputes. You will partner with a highly experienced senior lawyer, carry out legal research and produce persuasive written materials. The position contributes to building out a developing practice area.\nWhat you'll do\n- Assist a senior partner with tax-related litigation, both civil and criminal, and adjacent white-collar work.\n- Represent clients in examinations, administrative appeals and enforcement actions before the tax authority.\n- Argue tax disputes across specialized tax and federal trial-level courts.\n- Research legal questions and prepare court filings, legal memos and similar documents.\n- Counsel clients on compliance procedure, required filings and ways to avoid or reduce penalties.\n- Work alongside fellow litigators on cases that raise tax questions.\nRequirements\nWhat we're looking for\n- 3 to 5 years of tax controversy experience, gained at a law firm, in a judicial clerkship or at a government agency focused on tax.\n- A JD plus an LLM in Taxation, or current enrollment in an LLM program ending no later than Fall 2028.\n- Excellent legal research and writing ability, with a writing sample reviewed during interviews.\n- Active bar admission in the state of the chosen office, or a wave-in application close to completion.\n- Willingness to work from one of the three office locations.\nBonus points\n- Background in both civil and criminal tax matters.\nBenefits\nCompensation and benefits\n- Base salary: USD 230,000 to 250,000 per year\n- Performance bonus\nLocation and work model\n- New York, NY, United States;
