Our commitment to innovation, employee development, and project excellence has established us as a leader in the industry.\nPosition\nRaymond is seeking a Structural Engineer to lead structural engineering efforts on small projects and project components from initial planning through completion. This role involves structural design and analysis, preparation and review of engineering documents, construction observation, quality assurance, and collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams. The Structural Engineer III will also mentor less experienced staff and support senior engineers on larger projects.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead structural engineering tasks and project components through all phases, from planning and design to construction and completion.\nDesign and analyze foundations, buildings, and other structures using materials such as structural steel, cold-formed steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.\nPrepare and review structural calculations, design drawings, technical specifications, reports, proposals, and other client deliverables.\nPerform technical, quality control, and constructability reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and client requirements.\nConduct site assessments, inspections, surveys, and construction observations, including preparation and review of field reports.\nCoordinate structural design efforts with project managers, architects, civil and mechanical engineers, contractors, clients, and other project team members.\nProvide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to less experienced engineers and designers.\nDevelop project work-hour estimates, monitor project scope and budgets, and communicate schedule or budget concerns proactively.\nAssist with project planning, design analysis, engineering calculations, specification development, and technical problem-solving.\nSupport business development and marketing efforts to establish relationships and obtain new clients.\nMaintain accurate project records, provide regular updates on project schedules and budgets, and complete required administrative tasks.\nMaintain professional credentials and continuing education requirements.\nJob Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited four-year program or an equivalent non-American four-year degree, subject to review.\nRelevant professional experience based on education:\n9+ years with an ABET/EAC-accredited bachelor’s degree and a two-year master’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.\n10+ years with an ABET/EAC-accredited bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.\n12+ years with a non-American four-year degree, including at least two years of experience in the United States and fluency in written and spoken English.\nExperience with civil and structural engineering design and analysis, including foundations, buildings, and other structures.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, frame analysis software such as RISA, and component analysis and design software such as L-Pile, ENERCALC, or PCA MATS.\nExperience developing technical specifications, performing construction observations, and preparing engineering documents for clients.\nAbility to review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports prepared by other engineers or designers.\nFamiliarity with federal UFC, DoD, and VA criteria, or the ability to learn and apply these standards.\nStrong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.\nAbility to work independently with limited supervision while contributing to a collaborative team environment.\nExperience training and mentoring staff, coordinating project teams, and supporting project leadership.\nInterest in business development and building client relationships.\nSuccessful completion of the FE and PE exams administered by NCEES, professional engineering licensure in the United States, and an active NCEES record.\nPassing the two-day Structural Engineering (SE) exam is preferred.\nAbility to travel as needed and attend local client or company meetings using personal transportation.\nApply Today!\nIf you are an experienced structural engineer looking to contribute to challenging projects, support team development, and help deliver high-quality engineering solutions, we encourage you to apply!\nWe participate in E-Verify.
