The role offers global exposure, complex architecture challenges, international collaboration, and meaningful real-world impact.\n\nRoles and Responsibilities : \n\n- Define system architecture for major builds and significant architectural changes. Create architecture diagrams, data models, integration boundaries, extension points, and scalability approaches.\n\n- Define and document Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) covering performance, scalability, reliability, availability, security, usability, maintainability, and supportability.\n\n- Work closely with Solution Engineers and Product Managers during the architecture and design phase.\n\n- Present and explain architectural decisions to technical stakeholders.\n\nTechnical & Code Review : \n\n- Review and approve high-risk technical changes and pull requests. Review authentication, authorization, session management, data models, migrations, sensitive-data handling, integrations, infrastructure, CI/CD, cryptography, and major framework/dependency upgrades.\n\n- Review design plans before implementation of high-risk changes.\n\n- Review performance and load-testing approaches and results.\n\n- Review security findings and ensure appropriate remediation.\n\n- Conduct periodic codebase and architecture health reviews.\n\nSecurity & Reliability : \n\n- Define the scope of security and penetration testing activities.\n\n- Oversee vulnerability remediation in collaboration with engineering teams. Ensure security best practices are incorporated into architecture and implementation.\n\n- Provide architectural guidance during critical incidents and architecture-level issues.\n\nTechnical Leadership & Knowledge Transfer : \n\n- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.\n\n- Conduct regular handover and knowledge-transfer reviews.\n\n- Identify and address key-person dependencies and architectural risks. Evaluate emerging AI/engineering tools and technologies relevant to software development.\n\n- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering frameworks and architecture practices.\n\nRequirements : \n\n- Strong experience as a Solution Architect, Software Architect, Technical Architect, or Engineer of Record.\n\n- Proven experience designing and building production-grade platforms, not only conducting architecture reviews.\n\n- Strong hands-on software engineering background.\n\n- Experience with the technology stack relevant to the project. Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability, APIs, integrations, databases, cloud/infrastructure, and security.\n\n- Experience defining and working with Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs). Strong experience with architecture documentation, technical design, and code reviews.\n\n- Experience handling high-risk technical changes and production systems.\n\n- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.\n\nPreferred Experience : \n\n- Experience working in LMIC (Low- and Middle-Income Country) environments. Experience with health-tech, donor-funded health programmes, or similar large-scale social-impact technology projects.\n\n- Experience working with low-connectivity or resource-constrained environments.
