Their primary role is to ensure the integrity, security, and performance of the databases that store and retrieve data critical to the organization's operations. Engineering creates a significant impact across different areas, considering the scale of product outreach. You’re also expected to influence the culture of the company and help shape it in the right way.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nEnsure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database infrastructure.\nWork closely with application teams to ship solutions that integrate seamlessly with our database systems.\nAnalyze solutions and implement best practices for supported data stores (primarily MySQL and PostgreSQL).\nDevelop and enforce best practices for database security, backup, and recovery.\nWork on the observability of relevant database metrics and make sure we reach our database objectives.\nProvide database expertise to engineering teams (for example, through reviews of database migrations, queries, and performance optimizations).\nWork with peers (DevOps, Application Engineers) to roll out changes to our production environment and help mitigate database-related production incidents.\nWork on automation of database infrastructure and help engineering succeed by providing self-service tools.\nOnCall support on rotation with the team.\nSupport and debug database production issues across services and levels of the stack.\nDocument every action so your learning turns into repeatable actions and then into automation.\nPerform regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning to ensure scalability.\nCreate and maintain documentation on database configurations, processes, and procedures.\nMandatory Qualifications:\nHave at least 6+ years of experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases in large environments.\nAwareness of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).\nHave knowledge of the internals of MySQL/PostgreSQL.\nKnowledge of load balancing solutions such as ProxySQL to distribute database traffic efficiently across multiple servers.\nKnowledge of tools and methods for monitoring database performance.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.\nKnowledge of caching (Redis / Elasticache)\nKnowledge of scripting languages (Python)\nKnowledge of
