The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Global Employee Relations team to maximize synergies and avoid a “silo” approach, and will effectively manage workplace risk, increase efficiency and effectiveness, and support major business initiatives by:\nServing as an escalation point and subject-matter expert for Employee Relations and other HR teams to ensure reputable employee relations advice is provided to businesses, functions and HR teams to support business priorities and RBC Blueprint while managing workplace risk;\nEffectively managing complex employee relations investigations and upholding (and as appropriate developing or enhancing) related processes and procedures;\nSupporting on initiatives, including the development of tools, processes and/or learning programs for employees and managers to support compliance, increase self-serve capability, enhance HR effectiveness, and encourage practices/behavior and processes consistent with RBC’s workplace policies and Blueprint;\nDeveloping and maintaining deep expertise in employee relations, including applicable employment laws, rules, and regulations;\nEnsuring that employees understand RBC’s Blueprint, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals;\nLeveraging the value in unit, department, and enterprise-wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross-enterprise mindset;\nAccepting and successfully executing change while supporting employees through the process, and keeping them focused on business priorities.\nWhat do you need to succeed?\nMust-have\nKnowledge of US employment law and regulatory requirements, typically achieved through progressive HR or legal experience\nMinimum undergraduate degree; postgraduate degree and/or professional licensing (J.D.) preferred\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nStrong listening, understanding and responding skills\nCritical and strategic thinking ability and translation to action\nWhat’s in it for you?\nWe thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
