You will lead a team of payroll professionals through the timely and accurate delivery, standardization and compliance of payroll services in Canada.\nWhat will you do?\nYou will report to the Senior Manager, Payroll Delivery where you will support and advocate for a seamless and integrated payroll experience through innovative use of technology.\n\nLead a high performing team which executes the highest standards of life cycle and payroll processing in support of managers and employees in Canada and retirees in Canada and internationally.\n\nSets direction and vision of the team by developing the team’s capability and leveraging individual capabilities and strengths to achieve business objectives.\n\nAccountable for the accurate and timely coordination and preparation of payroll for multiple pay frequencies, for RBC employees in Canada.\n\nOversee management of changes to SAP relating to employee life cycle and payroll by planning, prioritizing and managing system change requests and providing approval to proceed with changes, after successful execution of user acceptance testing.\n\nEnsure compliance with RBC internal control requirements, regulatory requirements and RBC HR policies and programs in the delivery of payroll processing.\n\nEnsure effective operational controls are in place, properly operated and reported; that defects and failures are highlighted and reported; that remediation plans are developed and actioned.\n\nSupport optimization initiatives to eliminate manual intervention and streamline processes.\n\nSupport Project team in identifying processes managed outside SAP to influence adoption of new payroll application.\n\nWhat do you need to succeed?\nMust Have:\nExtensive experience with employee life cycle and payroll management.\n\nExperience demonstrating leadership and people management capabilities.\n\nStrong team building, mentoring, and performance management capabilities.\n\nExperience with HR and payroll software applications.\n\nConsiderable experience of the principles and operation of payroll tax requirements.\n\nGood understanding of internal controls and payroll accounting.\n\nProfessional payroll designation/qualification.\n\nNice to Have:\nExperience in managing relationships with payroll vendors.\n\nProfessional HR qualification.\n\nProject management experience.\n\nWhat’s in it for you?\nWe thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
