About Re:Build

At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.

We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.

The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles)

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for a quality-driven team member, who thrives on developing robust processes that minimize variation and customer risk.  You communicate clearly, with your audience in mind, using your skills to standardize processes across departments and shifts. You likely bring 3-6 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools to solve problems and continuously improve processes.  Whether designing quality into new products, partnering with suppliers to improve their systems, or addressing customer complaints, you utilize your strong moral compass to do the right thing for internal & external customers alike.

What you will get to do

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll ensure and improve compliance to ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality standards.  You will use a data-driven approach to solve problems and make improvements, implementing solutions that are robust and repeatable. You'll monitor performance and metrics, leading root cause analysis where needed.  You will create clear and concise documentation that communicates procedures and requirements effectively.  Along the way, you'll participate in teams that are developing future processes and products, designed with quality in mind from Day 0, and ensure our suppliers are working towards specifications that support our success.

This role provides the support to ensure compliance with quality standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, create quality documentation, and build systems that ensure quality is built into all processes.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the process Quality Engineering representative on new product development and provides strategic quality representation across teams.
  • Influence the QMS functions, including but not limited to design, supplier management, production, document control, risk management, etc.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate tools, systems, and methods for product/process improvement and conformance.
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles to identify and implement improvements in a rapidly growing manufacturing environment to decrease variability, improve yield, increase capacity, reduce lead-time and improve process flow.
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventative action initiatives.
  • Participate in approving process changes and creating processes for new products.
  • Develop product inspection techniques & documentation and perform inspections when necessary.
  • Develop and interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts with reaction plans that drive problem solving and process improvement.
  • Train operators on inspection techniques, requirements and documentation, as applicable.
  • Utilize statistical tools to analyze data and provide regular quality metrics to the organization in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate between Suppliers, Customers, Development and Production teams to ensure quality and Lean are built into manual and automated processes.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data trends to eliminate redundant or unnecessary processes and to improve existing processes to minimize rework and scrap.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality compliance for multiple areas of the quality system to ensure process and product quality.
  • Audit supplier, manufacturing and business processes to ensure compliance with standards and to drive improvements to those processes.
  • Identify and support quality test methods, inspection criteria, risk assessments, and other processes for new products to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Create and maintain ISO 9001/IATF16949 compliant process documentation, including the drafting, approval and control of procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Performs statistical analysis (mean, median, standard deviation, correlation). Solves problems using advanced algebra, geometry, or trigonometry. Build and interpret financial models or forecasting tools
  • Responsibilities can be somewhat complex, requiring analysis of data and weighing the outcomes of a decision. Has the ability to work through complex problems by referencing previous precedent. Role has complexity which requires advanced or specialty training and/or experience.

What you bring to the team

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3-6 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Experience in utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools & concepts, such as 5S, Gemba, Kanban, Kaizen, etc,
