This position will oversee the design and development of fixtures, tooling, and automation for current processes and future changes.\nCore Functions\nSupervise engineers and assist with directing the daily activities of the department.\nManage overall production process direction, product floor layouts, and labor reduction efforts.\nOversee the design and development of fixtures, tooling, automation, and processes related to the enhancement of manufacturing processes, product changes, and new products that are consistent with a zero-defect level and low product cost.\nImprove manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.\nRecommend changes, prepare cost justifications, and coordinate the design and development of new processes, systems, equipment, or materials.\nEnsure full utilization of engineering resources. \nAssist engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel in troubleshooting or problem-solving activities.\nAssist engineering in implementation on DTV, design for manufacturing changes, and new future product roadmaps.\nEnsure all manufacturing engineering projects fit within the overall company goals and strategy. Provide support to product design engineering and production during the hand-off of a new product.\nQualifications & Requirements\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field required.\n4+ years of experience required and 1+ years of experience leading within functional area preferred\nLean or similar Continuous Improvement knowledge and experience required.\nCAD/CAM software experience is required.\nERP or manufacturing software experience preferred.\nRequired Licenses\nValid driver’s license required.\nSkills, Abilities, and Knowledge\nSkilled in Microsoft Office.\nAbility to read and understand technical drawings.\nAbility to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.\nActively attends to, conveys, and understands comments and questions of others.\nMathematical skills commensurate with an engineering degree.\nAbility to prioritize multiple projects and priorities through the analysis of business needs.\nTravel\nOccasional travel may be required.\nCompetencies\nDisplays original thinking and creativity; Meets challenges with resourcefulness; Generates suggestions for improving work; Develops innovative approaches and ideas.\nDisplays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.\nIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.\nApproaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.\nObserves safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.\nBalances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to other views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Supports everyone’s efforts to succeed.\nSpeaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.\nSupervisor Responsibilities\nThis position will plan, staff, evaluate, and direct the work of employees of a work unit.\nPerks That Go the Extra Mile :\nAt RealTruck, we take care of our people-because they drive our success.
