We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions. \nWe operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation. \nThe way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles) \nWho we are looking for\nThe Enterprise Architect is a senior technology leader responsible for defining, governing, and realizing the organization’s enterprise architecture across Business, Data, Application, and Technology/Platform domains. This role ensures strategic business objectives are translated into cohesive, implementable architectures that are secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective. This individual collaborates closely with business and process leaders and technical teams to deliver measurable outcomes. The role brings to bear artificial intelligence (AI) to improve architectural analysis, accelerate decision-making, and improve execution efficiency-while ensuring responsible and compliant AI adoption.\nWhat you get to do\nBusiness ArchitectureDefine, maintain, and communicate capability maps, value streams, process models, and organizational impact assessments.\nAlign architecture plans with business outcomes, benefits, and important metrics; ensure traceability from strategy to delivery.\n\nData ArchitectureEstablish enterprise data principles, domain models, integration patterns, governance frameworks, and data quality standards.\nArchitect data platforms supporting analytics, AI/machine learning, and real-time decisioning (e.g., streaming, event processing).\nDefine data ownership, stewardship, lineage, privacy, and security practices with data leaders and compliance teams.\nEnsure data designs enable responsible AI (model governance, bias monitoring, explainability, and auditability).\n\nApplication ArchitectureDefine target-state application architecture emphasizing modularity/replaceability, interoperability, scalability, and lifecycle sustainability.\nPromote API-first, AI-native, cloud-native, event-driven, and reusable component patterns; guide microservices boundaries and domain design.\n\nTechnology ArchitectureCreate blueprints for platforms/solutions, infrastructure, integration layers, and cloud environments (hybrid/multi-cloud as applicable).\nEnsure patterns support DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, automation, resilience, and security-by-design.\nLead platform and vendor evaluations aligned to principles, requirements, total cost of ownership (TCO), and business value.\n\nGovernance and StandardsEstablish and maintain enterprise architecture policies, standards, reference architectures, patterns, models, roadmaps, and guardrails.\nLead architecture review boards and initiative checkpoints; implement compliance and handle exceptions responsibly.\nProvide structured guidance on build-vs-buy decisions, risk trade-offs, and technical debt management.\n\nEmbed zero-trust, security-by-design, and regulatory requirements (privacy, audit, industry standards) into architecture patterns.\nConduct threat modeling and resilience planning; define strategies for continuity, disaster recovery, reliability, and supply-chain security.\nBuild roadmaps using current and target models driven from impact and gap analysis activities.\nTranslate roadmaps into actionable implementation plans, epics, and achievements with clear acceptance criteria and measurable business value.\nRationalize the application portfolio; eliminate redundancies, reduce technical debt, and lead modernization/migration paths.\nArtificial IntelligenceUse AI tools to model dependencies, identify risks, estimate impact, and optimize designs; apply AI for architectural telemetry and pattern detection.\nEmploy generative AI to accelerate documentation, standards creation, scenario modeling, solution design assistance, and governance workflows.\nDefine architectural patterns and guardrails for responsible enterprise AI, including data requirements, MLOps, model lifecycle, and compliance.\n\nExecution OptimizationDrive innovative realization approaches to shorten cycle time.\nGuide delivery teams through design, build, and release; make timely architectural decisions and remove blockers.\nTrack execution against architecture objectives; identify deviations and lead corrective actions to restore alignment without sacrificing throughput.\nValidate post-implementation outcomes to confirm design intent, security/compliance, and time-to-value realization.\nChampion methods, tools, and architectures that continuously reduce time-to-market.\n\nServe as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on modernization, platform strategy, and enterprise capability evolution.\nMentor architects, engineers, analysts, and product leaders to elevate architectural maturity and delivery excellence. Ability to unify teams and drive effective and efficient decision making through the mastery of influence.\nFoster a culture of transparency, shared problem-solving, and continuous improvement.\nWhat you bring to the Team\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.\n10+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise, solution, data, application, or platform architecture.\nPragmatic application of EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).\nSolid understanding of business systems (ERP, MES, CAD, PLM, QMS, etc.), cloud platforms, distributed systems, integration frameworks, and modern application design.\nStrong understanding of AI/ML, data architectures, and modern security frameworks.\nConsistent track record to lead and realize large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives with measurable outcomes.\nOutstanding communication, facilitation, and collaborator leadership skills across corporate and technological audiences.\nPreferred QualificationsExperience with multi-cloud or hybrid architectures.\nExposure to product-centric operating models, focused build approaches, and platform engineering.\nExperience in regulated government or global enterprise environments.\nExperience in manufacturing environments and processes.\nFamiliar with Lean manufacturing processes.\n\nThis is a remote role with 20% expected travel.\nIn addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.\nThe BIG payoff\nWe are a company who is going to make a difference in the industries and the communities in which we choose to operate.
