As a Senior Software Engineer on the Lending squad, you'll own the backend systems that power our credit products - from risk decisioning to the loan lifecycle experience inside the app. This is a high-ownership role. You'll work on systems where correctness, resilience, and security are non-negotiable, and where the quality of your thinking has a direct impact on financial outcomes for millions of customers.\nRequirements\nDesign and build backend services that support the full credit journey - origination, analysis, disbursement, and repayment - with a focus on customer experience. \nContribute to risk-aware system design: model edge cases, reason about failure modes, and build controls that protect customers and the business. \nWrite production-grade Java/Spring services on AWS, with a strong emphasis on observability, fault tolerance, and security. Participate actively in technical decisions - architecture reviews, RFCs, incident retrospectives - and influence how the team solves hard problems. \nCollaborate closely with product, data, and risk teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable, maintainable software. \nMentor peers through code reviews and technical discussions, raising the bar without gatekeeping. \nWhat We're Looking For\nStrong backend engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in Java and Spring (Boot, MVC, Security, Data). \nSolid AWS experience - you've designed and operated distributed services in the cloud, not just deployed to it. A structured approach to problem analysis: you don't just solve the ticket - you understand the system, the tradeoff, and the downstream risk. \nComfort operating autonomously: you drive tasks to completion, surface blockers early, and don't need someone to define the next step for you. \nClear, direct communication - you can explain a technical position to an engineer, a product manager, or a risk analyst without losing the substance. \nExperience building systems where reliability and security are first-class concerns (financial services, payments, or regulated domains is a plus). \nNice to Have\nExperience in credit, lending, or financial products.
